Quick reference
Alternatives
Add and edit the options you are prioritizing or choosing between.
When to use
Use this to add or edit the options you are prioritizing or choosing between, either before or after making trade-offs. Adding alternatives before making trade-offs is usually done if you already have a set of alternatives defined and are trying to make a decision, while adding alternatives after making trade-offs is useful if your main objective is to create a decision-making framework (e.g. patient prioritization, procurement).
Instructions
Adding a new alternative
- If you have not yet added any alternatives, click on "alternatives" on the menu on the left, and then click on "add an alternative".
- If you have already added alternatives, go to the alternatives page and click the blue "new alternative" button at the top.
Editing alternatives
- Click on any field in the alternatives table to edit it
- To copy an alternative, clear an alternative’s data, or delete an alternative, tick the checkbox on the left of its row, and choose the appropriate option from above the table.
All possible alternatives
- Could be a useful proxy if you don't have any real alternatives defined yet (e.g. in patient prioritization, if you do not have any real patients defined yet but want to test out your new 1000minds prioritization tool)
- You can add any alternative from here to the list of alternatives by ticking the box to the left of that alternative, and clicking "copy to alternatives" above the table.
Hints & tips
- Your alternatives are very customizable: add images, add a description, and you can even change the term "alternative" to anything else you like! Be creative and have fun!
