Create a Presentation Using Branded Templates
Create a presentation using a branded template.
When to use
We create a presentation in this way whenever we want Copilot to use our company-branded template.
Instructions
Copilot by default will create new presentations using the default template in PowerPoint. However, if we work at a company that has a specific template branded with company colors, themes, and images, we want to ensure that we use that instead.
- Open your company template.
- Click the the slides pane and click CTRL+A to select all slides.
- Press Delete.
This will delete all of the slides from the template, but leave the themes, colors, and fonts. We can now get Copilot to create a presentation and it will take on the look and feel of our branded template.
- Type the prompt: 'Create a presentation that explains the importance of bees to the environment'.
- Press Enter.
The presentation will be created with our company branding.
- 00:04 A common question that I've had from people about working with Copilot in
- 00:08 PowerPoint is, can we use it with our own company branded templates?
- 00:12 And the answer is yes, you can.
- 00:15 So on the screen here, I have a template.
- 00:17 Now, this is just one of the Microsoft templates, but
- 00:20 this might be your company branded template.
- 00:22 So what if I want to work with these colors, fonts, and themes using Copilot?
- 00:27 Well, this is really simple.
- 00:29 All we need to do is open up the template, and then select all of the slides
- 00:33 in the Slides pane by pressing Ctrl+A, and then we want to delete them.
- 00:38 Now when we open up Copilot, we can then type in our prompt.
- 00:42 So we're going to create a presentation, and this time we're going to create
- 00:47 a presentation about the importance of bees to the environment.
- 00:50 So Copilot's going to go away, it's going to generate the text and
- 00:55 the imagery, but when it imports it in,
- 00:57 it's going to incorporate it into our templates theme, colors, and fonts.
- 01:02 So this is really important if you're trying to create consistency across all of
- 01:06 your presentations.
- 01:08 So here we go, it's added the imagery, it's added the text, but
- 01:12 we still have our company branded template in play.
- 01:16 And of course, I could go to Designer, I can change up the look and
- 01:19 feel of these slides to make these look a little bit more modern.
- 01:23 So the key takeaway here is just load up your template, delete out all of
- 01:27 the slides, and then add your prompt in for the new slides to take on the look and
- 01:31 feel of your branded templates, nice and straightforward.
- 01:35 Now, I'm going to add a picture here.
- 01:36 Let's go to our stock image library, and I'm going to search for bees.
- 01:41 Now this one's pretty nice, let's select it and let's insert it in.
- 01:45 And really here, I'm just showing you how you can customize this imagery.
- 01:48 Now what you'll notice is, as soon as we add a new image,
- 01:51 the Designer pane changes to incorporate that new image.
- 01:55 So we can then add that into our presentation and change the look and
- 01:59 feel by dragging the image around or choosing a different layout from Designer.
- 02:03 And if we play this presentation, you can see that this actually looks really nice,
- 02:08 and it's taken us about 20 seconds to create.
