- 00:04 We must visit about shapes, grouping, rotating and wrapping.
- 00:09 I do have a snapshot of what's on the screen,
- 00:10 so we have a quick reference to look at as these start moving around.
- 00:14 But the first step we're gonna do is actually lasso these together.
- 00:16 Now lasso is basically a click and a drag, so if I click and drag
- 00:20 with my arrow that dotted square, that's called a lasso, technically it is a lasso.
- 00:25 When I let go I've got all the shapes selected.
- 00:28 Now I haven't grouped them.
- 00:29 They're just all selected right now.
- 00:31 They're each going to act as an individual little entity.
- 00:34 I'm still on my home ribbon although I do have a drawing tools format and
- 00:38 I do have a range right over here on the home ribbon, and
- 00:40 I have the same set of arrange on the drawing tools format.
- 00:43 So it doesn't matter which ribbon you use as long as you can find the rotate.
- 00:47 Now watch what happens and I want you to compare to the little snapshot here.
- 00:52 Watch what happens on the screen.
- 00:54 See each one of them is rotating on its own.
- 00:57 There each behaving individually there not group together.
- 01:00 But now let's go ahead and change that there's still selected.
- 01:03 And I do have a group button right here and
- 01:05 when I click Group notice now I have a handle.
- 01:07 One single sets of handles around that whole group.
- 01:10 And so now what watch what happen as compared to the original.
- 01:13 When I move this around so there activeness one full group right now.
- 01:18 Once square of little tiny.
- 01:20 Triangles.
- 01:21 So that's the difference between these.
- 01:24 Now I am going to go ahead and ungroup these, so I'll go ahead and
- 01:26 click the ungroup button and they each had individual handles.
- 01:30 Well what if I only want three of these to be selected?
- 01:32 I can hold my Ctrl and click and just have three of these selected.
- 01:37 I could go up here to Group.
- 01:38 Or I could do a right-mouse here and I could group on my right-mouse as well.
- 01:42 And now I could move those out of the way and
- 01:45 those three are gone from the picture entirely.
- 01:47 I'll move those off to the side.
- 01:49 I did wanna do that and
- 01:49 just end up working with this little green one right here.
- 01:52 All right, so now let's talk about, we did the rotate,
- 01:55 now let's talk about wrapping text.
- 01:56 So let me minimize this screen just a little bit, so
- 01:59 we have a nice text box as an example.
- 02:02 I'm gonna flip this text box over the top of this green triangle, and
- 02:05 absolutely nothing happens.
- 02:07 And, it's because I haven't told the triangle to wrap text in anyway.
- 02:11 So, I am going to click off of that, select my triangle, right up here,
- 02:14 I have a wrap text option.
- 02:16 I am going to tell this to wrap square,
- 02:18 so I want all the text in the box to be square around it.
- 02:21 Now, I am going to click and drag my text box over the top of that triangle and
- 02:25 all the text should move around the triangle, when I let go, nothing happens.
- 02:30 It did not work, well, that is because a text box is see through, and until I tell
- 02:35 it to go behind that triangle, nothing is going to happen, nothing's going to wrap.
- 02:39 So I'm going to click on the text box again, and I'm going to come up here and
- 02:42 send it backward.
- 02:44 Now watch the screen, click, there we go.
- 02:47 Now, the text is going to wrap around the triangle that's trying to come through.
- 02:51 Now, I could change that triangle, and I could tell it wrap text, let's see,
- 02:56 top bottom and there we go, the text box has now text above,
- 03:01 text below, but not on the left or right side of it.
- 03:04 Now what if I do want all the text to be right over the top of it,
- 03:07 I'm simply going to bring that text box forward.
- 03:10 So I'm going to click bring forward and there we go,
- 03:12 all the text right over the top of it.
- 03:13 You have total control over the way your text looks,
- 03:16 how it wraps around these, the squares and triangles, how you group everything.
- 03:22 You're the boss here.
- 03:23 So practice with this.
- 03:25 It's great to know, but you have to know all the tools.
- 03:28 The bring forward, bring backward, group together, rotate.
- 03:31 Have fun with this, it's a great lesson to learn.
- 03:33 Thank you.
