Pan and Zoom Panel

Quick reference

• 00:04 I want to show you something that's called the pan and zoom window,
• 00:08 which is going to help with really detailed diagrams.
• 00:11 And I want to start a new diagram, however, I want to use a template.
• 00:16 So I'll pick on more templates.
• 00:19 And I'm looking for one that says basic electrical.
• 00:22 So we'll click on that, and then let's pick on this one, and I'll pick on Create.
• 00:29 Now of course, based on that template, it brought in certain stencils, obviously
• 00:35 based in the electrical model, but I'm going to open up the pan and zoom window.
• 00:40 So I pick on the View menu up top, View, and
• 00:43 I pick on Test Panes and I pick on Pan and Zoom.
• 00:47 And this window is going to open up over here.
• 00:49 Now if you want to reposition this actual window, move your mouse to where it says
• 00:54 Pan and Zoom and then just kind of drag it where you want that to be.
• 00:58 So watch what this really means.
• 01:00 If I move my mouse into the section here.
• 01:04 I can just drag that around, and then, that's the pan part.
• 01:10 Or another thing I could do, is just click on a certain part of that document, and
• 01:15 then it goes right to that section.
• 01:17 So that's the pan part, I can either drag it,
• 01:20 or I can move specifically where I want it to be.
• 01:23 Now, here's the zoom part.
• 01:25 On this window, I'm going to drag the blue rectangle up.
• 01:30 And now here I'm really ready to getting to the nitty gritty.
• 01:33 So let me pan over a little bit, and I'm just going to keep on zooming in and
• 01:38 really be able to see the nitty gritty of that diagram.
• 01:42 So I can just click on a different space of the document and
• 01:46 really, really see the nitty gritty by zooming in or zooming out.
• 01:50 So that's called the pan and zoom window.
• 01:52 So I'm going to close that again.
• 01:55 So you open up a diagram and then we'll pick on the View menu and
• 02:00 then Task Panes and then Pan and Zoom.
• 02:03 So you can see how I can move the pane area around, right?
• 02:07 Or I can click on a section, it pans right to that part.
• 02:11 Let me click on this little section over here, good.
• 02:15 Now I'll zoom in, and then get very, very specific about the diagram and
• 02:20 see the real nitty gritty though, if you need to go to that level.
• 02:25 All right, so that's called the pan and zoom window.
• 02:27 Typically when we're done with that, we'll put that window away.
