- 00:05 Hello everyone, welcome to this GoSkills.com course.
- 00:07 My name is Francesco and I'm going to be your host for
- 00:11 the Essential Productivity course.
- 00:13 Covering all about productivity and
- 00:16 resources that you can use in your routine to really optimize your day.
- 00:20 I'm going to be covering, in this introductory episode,
- 00:24 more of an overview of the course.
- 00:26 I love productivity,
- 00:27 I think it's a great thing to be aware of in your daily routine.
- 00:30 And I can imagine you being here, you probably highly rank it because you
- 00:34 understand that productivity can really advance how you use your time in your day.
- 00:40 We're going to cover some important resources and also some important advice
- 00:44 as well, around productivity from some experts in this space.
- 00:48 Just to get things started, I just wanted to introduce myself.
- 00:51 You're probably wondering who the guy behind the voice is.
- 00:55 My name's Francesco D'Alessio, I studied business studies for
- 00:58 the last three years and I'm currently in marketing.
- 01:00 So I run a freelance at the moment for a couple of tech start-ups.
- 01:04 And also working on the influencer marketing and community management.
- 01:08 So that's my day role.
- 01:10 I also run a YouTube channel all about productivity apps and resources.
- 01:14 So I go really deep in the topic of productivity apps.
- 01:17 And that's the reason I felt compelled to do this course.
- 01:20 Because finding those resources that you can grab onto is so important and so
- 01:24 valuable.
- 01:25 So I've been working full time for like two or three years now
- 01:28 on different projects and also running the YouTube channel and university.
- 01:32 I was putting myself under a sort of a real life working situation.
- 01:36 Where I could balance all of my things, but
- 01:39 in a way that I could use the productivity resources.
- 01:42 So, I've been experimenting with all of these applications that I recommend in this
- 01:47 series myself, but also testing ones out there.
- 01:50 Just before we get started, if you need to contact me throughout this course,
- 01:53 that's my direct email address.
- 01:54 I'll take 24 hours to 48 hours to get back to you and Twitter.
- 01:58 So, If you've just found this course and
- 02:00 you wanna shout me out, feel free to do that @FrancescoD_Ales.
- 02:04 I'm really passionate about any feedback so
- 02:05 if you want to go a bit deeper in a topic that I've talked about,
- 02:08 feel free to email me or tweet me, whatever you like.
- 02:11 Because I'd love to go a little bit further, and
- 02:13 as much value I can add to you as possible.
- 02:16 So you're probably wondering, this course, what is it all about?
- 02:19 We're gonna be covering some basic elements of productivity and
- 02:22 then we're gonna go into details on the resources.
- 02:25 So we're gonna cover Evernote Trello, Todoist, Hours, Google Calendar,
- 02:30 and Slack.
- 02:31 Now if you're a complete newbie you might not have heard of these resources, and
- 02:34 that's totally fine.
- 02:35 These resources have been picked to compliment each other so
- 02:38 they're not all competitors, directly.
- 02:40 Which is great because you can use them together or
- 02:43 individually to really boost your productivity.
- 02:46 We're also gonna come up with some general productivity advice as well.
- 02:49 Which I think will be valuable for you as someone who are trying
- 02:52 to develop their productivity and put it into context.
- 02:54 We're also gonna be covering this in between 30 to 35 modules here.
- 02:59 So there's gonna be plenty of bits of content to get started with,
- 03:02 get your teeth stuck into and really enjoy in this series.
- 03:06 The mission that I've stated with this whole course is to dramatically improve
- 03:11 the proficiency of your productivity tool use.
- 03:14 We're gonna cover that in the form going into detail on then resources, but
- 03:18 also on the conceptualization of how to use them.
- 03:21 We're gonna do work examples and
- 03:24 really boosting your knowledge of some of the features inside of the resources.
- 03:27 I've set up some objectives as well that we'll be covering.
- 03:30 Understanding the value of productivity applications,
- 03:34 trying to distill why people use them and what is the value in using them.
- 03:38 We're gonna be up how to create your own workflow so
- 03:40 that's gonna be a very important part of the process.
- 03:42 Giving you the ability to pick resources that are out there on the app stores and
- 03:47 different places strategically.
- 03:49 So that you understand the value in each of them.
- 03:51 And finally, to grow your day-to-day use of resources.
- 03:54 There's not much point in giving you a resource that can't scale.
- 03:58 So I'm gonna show you how you can scale with all of these resources.
- 04:03 The exercises in this series will really try and
- 04:05 give you a insight into how you can improve your productivity.
- 04:09 This first exercise is almost like an audit
- 04:12 of your current situation of productivity.
- 04:14 So what I want you to do is take a snapshot of your resources.
- 04:18 What resources are you using right now, and
- 04:21 you can write them down on that exercise.
- 04:23 And also try and understand your state of productivity insights at the moment.
- 04:27 What beliefs do you have about productivity apps, and
- 04:30 what workflow issues you're having.
- 04:32 This is all going to be important in the overall process, so
- 04:35 it's definitely recommended that you jump on the exercise to get started.
- 04:39 I'm actually really looking forward to this GoSkills.com course.
- 04:42 Because we're gonna be covering some really exciting stuff.
- 04:45 And going into detail on applications that you guys
- 04:48 might really enjoy to include in your daily routine.
- 04:51 Let's get started with the course.
- 04:53 Thanks very much guys, it's a pleasure to have you on the course.
- 04:55 And I'm looking forward to seeing you in the next segment.
