Team Member
Team Members must practice participatory leadership in order to be good contributing team members. Core team members take on the additional role of representing their function in all team activities.
When to use
Team members need to practice participatory leadership at all times while on a team. If an individual is on a cross-functional team and occupies the role of Core Team member, they need to represent their function and manage their function’s activities with respect to the team.
Instructions
Participatory team leadership is exactly what the words mean. It is team members participating with the other team members in a manner that leads the team forward. That involves planning, completing tasks, making decisions, and taking responsibility.
Good Team Member or Poor Team Member
The contract between good team members and poor team members is stark.
Core Team Members
Cross-functional teams have Core Team members. These are individuals who represent the voice of their function on the team. They are responsible for planning and executing – managing those who execute – functional activities that support the team. They also act as the focal point for communication and decision making on the team with respect to concerns and activities for their function.
