- 00:04 In the previous lesson, we saw how we can add documents,
- 00:07 spreadsheets, and PowerPoint presentations as tabs in Teams channels.
- 00:11 Now something else that we can do is we can add a SharePoint site or
- 00:16 a SharePoint site page as a tab in a channel.
- 00:20 And again, this is going to be beneficial to all channel members because
- 00:24 it just means they're able to access useful information quickly.
- 00:27 Now when it comes to adding a SharePoint site page as a tab at the top,
- 00:32 we utilize a very similar method to adding documents.
- 00:37 So the first thing we're going to do here,
- 00:38 we're going to stick with the design channel in the Mark A Project Team.
- 00:42 We're going to click on the plus to add a new tab.
- 00:45 Now if I type in share, you can see it's brought up SharePoint and
- 00:49 SharePoint Pages.
- 00:51 So we're going to add a page from a site.
- 00:54 So if we click on this option, it's going to go away.
- 00:57 And the first thing it's going to try and pull up are the site pages related to
- 01:01 the Teams channel that I'm currently clicked in.
- 01:04 So for this particular team, the Mark A Project Team,
- 01:08 I also have an associated SharePoint site.
- 01:11 And you can see that within the SharePoint site for
- 01:15 the Mark A Project Team I have three site pages, News, Videos, and Home.
- 01:21 Now if I wanted to add a page that wasn't from the Mark A Project Team, a different
- 01:26 SharePoint page altogether, I could choose Add a Page from any SharePoint site.
- 01:31 And as we saw before, I could go back to Sharepoint,
- 01:35 I could navigate to the site and the page.
- 01:37 This is the homepage for the sales and marketing site.
- 01:41 I can copy the URL Ctrl+C and I can simply paste it into here.
- 01:46 Now we saw how to do this previously, so we're not going to use this method.
- 01:49 Let's click on Back to Browse.
- 01:52 What we're going to do is we're going to make the News page available to
- 01:56 all of the team channel members.
- 01:58 So let's select the News page.
- 02:01 And notice at the bottom,
- 02:02 I have a little checkbox selected that says Post to the channel about this tab.
- 02:07 So this is basically also going to post a notification just letting team
- 02:12 members know that this site page has been added as a tab to the channel.
- 02:16 So let's click on Save,
- 02:18 now if you check out the tabs we have a new tab called News.
- 02:23 Now currently we haven't added anything to that SharePoint page as yet, so
- 02:27 it's not displaying anything.
- 02:29 But as we start to add items to the News page in SharePoint,
- 02:33 those are also going to show up here.
- 02:35 Let's click the plus again and add another SharePoint page.
- 02:40 This time we're going to add the Home page and click on Save.
- 02:46 So when I add the Home page, I basically get to see everything on that Home page.
- 02:50 So that's news, activities, I can see the document library.
- 02:54 So this is a really nice way to give team channel
- 02:57 members access to the main hub of your SharePoint site.
- 03:01 And if you don't like the way that these tabs are named,
- 03:04 remember you can right-click and simply rename these different tabs.
- 03:08 If we go back to the Posts tab, what we shall find is that we have
- 03:12 a notification for those new additions to our tabs.
- 03:16 So you can see here it says I added a tab at the top of this channel,
- 03:21 check it out, it's called News.
- 03:24 So very simple and
- 03:26 straightforward to share SharePoint site pages with your team.
