- 00:04 Adding and editing text is one of the most common uses within Google Documents.
- 00:10 But, of course, we can insert and add even further content into our document.
- 00:15 Let's take a look at the insert menu to see what else we can add.
- 00:19 The first option is to add an image to our document.
- 00:23 Simply select the area of the document,
- 00:25 where you would like that image to appear, and select image.
- 00:29 Now, there's a few different ways in which we can add an image.
- 00:32 We can choose an image from our computer to upload,
- 00:36 we can also choose to take a snapshot using our webcam.
- 00:41 And you may need to allow Google permission to access your webcam to do so.
- 00:46 We can also add an image by URL.
- 00:49 You can copy the image URL and then paste it into the field here.
- 00:53 If you have albums within Google, you can also select them and
- 00:57 add them directly to your document.
- 01:00 You can also access other image files from your Google Drive account and
- 01:05 add them to your document.
- 01:06 Lastly, we can search a number of free stock images using this search bar here.
- 01:14 I'm gonna go back to my Google Drive and find an image here.
- 01:18 By selecting this image, it
- 01:21 will input that image directly where my cursor was last.
- 01:25 And now, I can move it around and edit this image within the document,
- 01:28 including resizing this image, if I like.
- 01:32 Let's take a look at some of the other options we have available to us as well.
- 01:36 We can choose to insert a link.
- 01:38 Just select the piece of text that you would like to link.
- 01:42 Select insert link and you can paste your desired link directly in here.
- 01:49 Our third option is to insert an equation into our document.
- 01:54 By selecting this option, we can start to enter in our new equation here, or
- 01:59 take a look at some particular defaults.
- 02:02 For example, there may be a mathematical equation or
- 02:05 a mathematical symbol that you would like to insert into your document.
- 02:10 We can also insert a drawing if we like.
- 02:13 And by selecting Drawing, we get a new dialogue window in which we can start
- 02:18 to add a new piece of text or start drawing some new lines.
- 02:23 Let's say I'd like to add a simple x into my document.
- 02:27 I'm gonna say Save & Close and there we have the drawing that I just created.
- 02:33 We can also insert a chart, and in fact, a variety of different charts if we like,
- 02:38 including a bar graph, column, line, or a pie chart.
- 02:43 And we can also pull in a chart directly from sheets.
- 02:48 If I select one of these options, it will insert a basic or a templated chart.
- 02:54 And then if I want to edit this data,
- 02:58 I can click on the text and select open in sheets.
- 03:04 This will open up a new tab where I can start to relabel these titles and
- 03:09 I can start adding new pieces of data.
- 03:12 And as mentioned before, you can do this directly from within sheets,
- 03:15 as well, by selecting the content that you may have already created.
- 03:20 And lastly, we can add a table,
- 03:24 which can be a great way to group pieces of information within Google Documents.
- 03:29 You can select the size of your table here,
- 03:32 all the way to a maximum of 20 rows by 20 columns.
- 03:38 So there you can see,
- 03:39 we can add a variety of different content to our Google documents.
- 03:45 Whether they be images, or charts, or even drawings that we've created ourselves.
- 03:50 Start by adding new pieces of content to bring your documents to life.
