We launch Microsoft Forms whenever we want to create a new form, quiz, or survey.

We can launch Forms directly from within the Microsoft 365 portal.
- Open a browser.
- Go to office.com.
- Sign in to Microsoft 365 with your email address and password.
- Click the App Launcher.
- Select Forms from the list.
Launch Forms from a URL
- Open a browser.
- Type forms.microsoft.com into the URL bar.
Business vs Personal
It might be that you have a Microsoft 365 business account and also a personal account. It's worth noting that depending on which one you are logged in as, the start page of Forms looks different.
Business accounts have access to create team forms based on Microsoft 365 groups, personal accounts do not.
Login to download- 00:04 Microsoft forms is available to anybody who has a Microsoft 365 subscription.
- 00:09 It's also available for free to anyone with a hotmail.com,
- 00:13 live.com, or outlook.com email address.
- 00:17 So let's take a look at the different ways that we can access Microsoft.
- 00:21 So the first way that you can access Microsoft Forms is to simply fire up
- 00:25 a browser and go to office.com.
- 00:28 Now, if you already have a Microsoft 365 subscription and you've logged in
- 00:32 previously, it will take you straight in to the Microsoft 365 homepage.
- 00:37 If you haven't logged in previously, it will pop-up and
- 00:39 ask you to enter your email address and password.
- 00:42 Essentially, all we're doing here is signing in to the Microsoft 365 portal.
- 00:46 Once you're in the portal, if you click the app launcher in the top left-hand
- 00:50 corner, you'll see forms in the list just there, and
- 00:53 it's as simple as that to launch forms.
- 00:56 The other way that you can access forms is to simply open up another browser And
- 01:01 in the URL bar type forms.microsoft.com, hit Enter and
- 01:05 you can access forms that way as well.
- 01:08 Now, if you're anything like me, you might have a Microsoft 365 subscription,
- 01:14 but you also might have a personal Hotmail or Outlook account.
- 01:18 Now you can use forms with either of your accounts, but it is worth noting that they
- 01:22 do differ very slightly depending on which account you're logged in as.
- 01:27 So I've just done a split screen here in the left half of the screen.
- 01:31 You can see the Forms homepage when I sign in through my Microsoft 365
- 01:36 Portal using my business account.
- 01:38 And on the right-hand side of the screen,
- 01:41 this is what I see when I sign in using my Hotmail account.
- 01:44 So you can see that they do look very different.
- 01:47 Now, I will say the functionality doesn't differ
- 01:49 a great deal between these two different versions.
- 01:52 So if you understand one, it's easy to understand the other, but there are some
- 01:57 key differences, which I will highlight as we go through the course.
- 02:01 One that springs to mind is if you take a look at the window on the left-hand side,
- 02:05 when we scroll down to the bottom of the homepage,
- 02:08 you can see I have a My Groups section.
- 02:10 So this is going to allow me to create forms for
- 02:12 any Microsoft 365 groups that I have set up.
- 02:15 Whereas in the version on the right-hand side, if I scroll down to the bottom,
- 02:19 I don't actually have that.
- 02:21 And that is because Groups is entirely for team collaboration.
- 02:26 And we don't generally need that when we're working just in
- 02:29 our personal account.
- 02:30 Now, in this course, I'm going to be using the version on the left,
- 02:34 the one that we use when we log into our Microsoft 365 subscription,
- 02:38 mainly because I think that's how most people will access forms.
- 02:42 So for now, that is how you can access Forms.
- 02:45 I'll see you in the next lesson.
