- 00:03 Let me show you how to attach a file to your note.
- 00:08 So notice that we have the Insert menu up top, Insert.
- 00:13 And then in this case, I can do a File Attachment.
- 00:17 And then you can get any kind of file from your computer.
- 00:21 It can be a picture, it can be a Word document,
- 00:24 just about any kind of file would work here.
- 00:28 So, for example, notice I'll go to my Documents folder.
- 00:32 And then let's go get, in this case, I'll use an Excel file.
- 00:39 But just about any kind of file could work here.
- 00:41 In this case, I can attach the file or insert the spreadsheet directly and
- 00:46 that'll show up in a different way, or insert a chart or
- 00:50 a table from that spreadsheet.
- 00:52 So I'll say attach a file, and notice how that shows up in the note.
- 00:56 So then I can just double-click on that file.
- 01:00 And then they would open up that file.
- 01:03 If you get this message, it'll be okay, I'll click on OK there.
- 01:07 And now that file is going to open up.
- 01:10 So it's almost like a link to that file, as you can see.
- 01:13 I'm going to close that window.
- 01:16 So in that case, I just clicked on the Insert menu and File Attachment.
- 01:20 And then you would point to any file on your computer.
- 01:23 So it could really be any kind of file.
- 01:26 That time I used a Excel file.
- 01:29 Let's see if we can get a Word document as an example.
- 01:32 So I'll scroll down and see if I can get a Word document.
- 01:37 So this time I'll use a Word document, and I'll click on Insert.
- 01:42 So I can either attach the file, or the printout would actually show
- 01:47 the text on this screen here. We'll just hit Attach a file.
- 01:51 And now there's that Word document, and I can double-click on that.
- 01:55 And now the Word document is going to open up in Microsoft Word, as you can see.
- 02:00 Now, notice how I picked on Insert in the file attachment.
- 02:05 And when you do that, that way you can pick any kind of file, all right?
- 02:09 Just about any kind of file would work.
- 02:11 And then over here I can get a spreadsheet directly.
- 02:15 Or here we could even insert from Visio.
- 02:19 So it's pretty easy to attach a file into your OneNote.
