- 00:04 Hello this is Andy, and I wanna show you a little trick you can do with an email that
- 00:09 applies to calendar contacts and tasks.
- 00:12 First of all, I've got a brand new email right here.
- 00:14 And we're asking for an appointment.
- 00:17 I wanna file this particular email.
- 00:19 So I'm gonna open up my Inbox and I see a Class Folder file here.
- 00:22 Well, basically it's called the drag and drop.
- 00:25 I can literally click on an email and drag it right into a folder.
- 00:29 Now, notice a couple of things happening.
- 00:31 I've got the folder highlighted and it turns blue.
- 00:34 There's a little square on the bottom of my mouse, but this is also,
- 00:37 if you look at my mouse, you can see an image of the email attached to the mouse.
- 00:42 This is the first version I've ever seen that image and I love it.
- 00:45 There's no doubt in my mind that, as I hold my mouse button down,
- 00:49 I've got an email attached to it so I'm gonna go ahead and let go.
- 00:52 And I basically did a drag and
- 00:53 drop right to the folder where I want that email to belong.
- 00:56 Now, if I go ahead and click on that folder there it is.
- 00:58 If I change my mind I can move it right back to the Inbox.
- 01:01 Again, make sure the Inbox is blue and the email image is attached to my mouse.
- 01:05 Let go and I've moved it right back in to the Inbox.
- 01:08 And there it is.
- 01:09 All right, so I can drag and drop to an email folder.
- 01:12 Now, here's another thing.
- 01:14 This particular email they're asking for an appointment Friday at 10 AM.
- 01:17 So instead of going to my appointment calendar and
- 01:21 typing it in, I'm just gonna click on that email, drag it down, right down here to my
- 01:25 peek pane onto the calendar, and I'm gonna go ahead and let go.
- 01:29 And it opens up with a brand new appointment.
- 01:33 And inside that appointment is all the information about
- 01:37 the appointment request and look at the subject line of the appointment
- 01:42 is the same as the subject line of that email.
- 01:45 Now, all's I have to do is change all of the date
- 01:50 because they wanted it on Friday and they want it at 10 AM.
- 01:53 So I just have to adjust the date and time of when the appointment's going to happen.
- 01:58 And then, I hit Save and close.
- 02:00 Now, let's go ahead and take a look.
- 02:00 The email is still in my email list, but if I look at my calendar, right over here,
- 02:05 there it is.
- 02:06 The appointment landed on Friday at 10 AM.
- 02:09 It's that easy just to drag and drop an email to the calendar.
- 02:12 All right and I'm gonna go back to my email list and this time,
- 02:16 I don't have this person in my contacts.
- 02:18 So I'm gonna click and drag that same email down here to the people pane and
- 02:23 I'm gonna go ahead and let go on my email contacts and there it is.
- 02:26 It fills in the first name and the last name, fills in the email and
- 02:29 right over here is a copy of the email in the notes section.
- 02:33 I can just scroll up and I can find the information.
- 02:35 So here we go.
- 02:36 I got a web address that I can just copy from the right hand side,
- 02:40 paste to the left.
- 02:42 I've got a phone number.
- 02:43 Copy from the right hand side, paste to the left hand side.
- 02:46 I don't have to type anything, therefore, I'm not making any typos and
- 02:50 as I type that in a little business card is happening right over here on the right.
- 02:54 Anyway, I'm gonna do a save and close.
- 02:56 It is that easy to make a contact.
- 02:58 So I've taken an email, did a drag and drop to a folder.
- 03:01 Did a drag and drop down to a calendar.
- 03:03 Did a drag and drop down to a contact.
- 03:05 Do you think that I could do a drag and drop right over here to the task pane?
- 03:10 I'll bet you can.
- 03:11 Why don't you give it a try, and then I'll see you in the next video.
