Quick reference
Full Version vs Free Version
Understand the different versions of Teams so we can select the correct product for our needs.
When to use
We must have a version of Teams on our PC to collaborate and interact with team members.
Instructions
There are a few different versions of Microsoft Teams and the one we choose will depend on our environment and how we intend to use Teams. There are versions of Teams for individuals and business users.
The good news? Microsoft have made Teams accessible to everyone regardless of budget.
If we simply require basic Teams functionality like group calling, chat, tasks, and 5Gb of OneDrive cloud storage, we can download and use the FREE version of Teams. Windows 11 users also have access to basic Teams functionality from the taskbar.
If we have a subscription to Microsoft 365 Personal, then we already have access to Teams. If we require access to Teams for multiple people in our home, we can upgrade to the Microsoft 365 Family plan.
Business users can also download and access Microsoft Teams for free. For enhanced functionality and more OneDrive storage, consider upgrading to Microsoft Teams Essentials, Microsoft 365 Business Basic or Microsoft 365 Business Standard plans.

Microsoft Teams is also available as a mobile app for IOS and Android so we can stay connected on the go.
