Print a Visio Diagram

• 00:04 Let's talk about printing the diagram.

• 00:23 Now on this screen, you're going to see some choices.

• 00:37 We can make it one sided or printed on both sides if your printer does that.
• 00:43 Collated means if you're going to print more than one copy,
• 00:47 then the copies will go together so they're printing all pages one and
• 00:51 all pages two, it'll actually collated for you if it's multiple pages and
• 00:56 you're printing more than one copy of here's a number of copies up there.
• 01:01 Here you can make up landscape or portrait.
• 01:03 So let's see if portrait makes a different style.
• 01:05 You can see now it's on multiple pages.
• 01:07 So we'll go back to landscape, okay?
• 01:09 And then you can change the paper size.
• 01:12 Now in this case you would change the paper size to legal.
• 01:16 I bet that would make it fit a little bit better.
• 01:18 You can always try.
• 01:20 We'll keep it as the latter.
• 01:22 And then now, if you want that to print in color, then you would choose color here.
• 01:27 Otherwise you can make your print in black and white as you can see.
• 01:31 So let's say you have a color printer.
• 01:32 So there's some settings and then let's come down here and
• 01:37 we'll pick on the page setup.
• 01:39 And then we have page set up that might be similar to what you might see in Excel.
• 01:44 So here it does say fit to one page across by one page down.
• 01:51 So by doing that, it'll actually fit it down to one page, and
• 01:55 now look at fit on one page.
• 01:57 So that was pretty helpful.
• 01:58 We went back to page setup.
• 02:00 So that was one of the Print Setup tab.
• 02:03 Here I can make it portrait or landscape, I could change the paper size.
• 02:07 That was a pretty good choice, fit to one page across by one page down.
• 02:12 So when I was in print preview, I picked on Page Setup.
• 02:18 And then you can see probably the most important two tabs or the first two,
• 02:22 but you can go through those and see if some of those make a difference for you.
• 02:26 I'm going to click on OK here.
• 02:28 Now also if you look down here, it says Edit header and further.
• 02:32 So the header will appear at the top of each page and
• 02:35 the footer will appear on the bottom of each page.
• 02:38 So then, in this case maybe for the header,
• 02:42 I can have something either in the left the center or the right.
• 02:47 Or the photo I can have something on the left the center or the right.
• 02:51 So let's say I want the page number on the bottom of each page.
• 02:54 So for the center, I'll pick on the arrow and I'll pick on the page number, good.
• 03:01 And then let's say on the right side, I like to have the date.
• 03:05 So we'll do the the current the short version, okay, good.
• 03:10 So let's see what that's going to look like.
• 03:12 And then you can change the font of the header or the footer as well.
• 03:15 So I'll pick on OK.
• 03:17 And now notice how it did add the page number down there, all right?
• 03:21 So when we do a print, under the file menu, it does a print preview first.
• 03:28 You can change some of the settings here But
• 03:31 then if you really want to get detailed you pick on Page Setup.
• 03:35 And this is where we said fill it down the one page,
• 03:38 one page across by one page down.
• 03:40 And of course, there's other tabs that you can experiment with.
• 03:43 And also here, we picked an Edit header and footer.
• 03:47 And then we saw some great changes there.
• 03:50 And now you have some great ideas how to print your Visio diagram.
