- 00:04 Hello, everyone.
- 00:05 Welcome back to Essential Productivity.
- 00:08 My name's Francesco, and I'm the host for this GoSkills.com course.
- 00:11 If you've been following along you've been enjoying some of the introductory
- 00:15 Evernote experiences, which might have already benefited you.
- 00:18 Being able to set up your notebook and also being
- 00:21 able to create some really effective notes for whatever you do in your daily routine.
- 00:26 It's really important to understand that Evernote doesn't just
- 00:29 live inside the Evernote application, there are functions outside of it.
- 00:32 Now I wanna share with you the Evernote Web Clipper works and for many reasons,
- 00:36 because I use it in my routine more as a way to avoid distraction.
- 00:40 So about my day I might be quickly jotting stuff down, being able to see an article
- 00:45 that I want to read, however, I don't necessarily have the time to read it.
- 00:48 So grabbing the Evernote Web Clipper and being able to clip the information really
- 00:52 does help add value because it saves me time and allows me to come back to them.
- 00:57 I know a lot of people use the Web Clipper as a way to avoid distraction, but also
- 01:01 a way to collect the likes of research and PDFs and information like that.
- 01:06 So it doesn't just work for articles.
- 01:08 So, for example, I'm just looking here how to set a double first world record
- 01:12 sets effective goals, this looks like an interesting interview.
- 01:15 So once I click into this, I can start reading it.
- 01:17 But if I didn't want to start reading it, I wanted to save this for later,
- 01:21 all I have to do is go over to the Web Clipper up here,
- 01:23 which sits at the top of your Chrome.
- 01:25 And as you can see, you can either clip it as an Article, Simplified article,
- 01:29 Full page, Bookmark, or Screenshot.
- 01:32 And you can actually organize it directly into the project you'd like.
- 01:35 So I want to maybe set this as Personal Development.
- 01:39 I'm gonna go with Article view, which will clip the article itself, which is great.
- 01:43 And you can have it as Full page and Bookmark, but this tends to be my routine.
- 01:47 So if I just make sure that the title is right, is the title of the article, and
- 01:52 if I click Save what it will automatically do is
- 01:55 clip that directly into my Evernote account.
- 01:58 You can set a reminder straight from here or actually share it straight away.
- 02:01 And it will give you related notes from previous Medium pieces that you've
- 02:05 clipped.
- 02:06 So we just needed a refresh, but as you can see, it appeared in my Evernote feed
- 02:11 with the full article available to read with images, and
- 02:14 links at the bottom, which is very handy.
- 02:17 It also gives the original URL as well.
- 02:20 And as you can see, I clipped it as a reminder, which means that it appears in
- 02:24 the Personal Development reminder section with no date.
- 02:27 So it's actually a really effective way of being able to clip PDFs, articles, and
- 02:32 much more, even images and
- 02:33 text inside of your Chrome browser without having to leave it.
- 02:37 Which is a great way to be able to clip important information, links and
- 02:41 details across your day.
- 02:42 I recommend you go and download that one.
- 02:44 I'll include everything in the description.
- 02:46 However, if you want to go in more detail and
- 02:49 see all of the amazing keyboard shortcuts and functions that can actually do,
- 02:53 feel free to check out the exercise that we're gonna provide alongside this video.
- 02:58 I look forward to staying in tune with you to cover maximizing your Evernote
- 03:02 experience.
