Sharing a Task

• 00:04 Hey guys, welcome back to this GoSkills course all about Todoist.
• 00:08 Now in the previous session we've discussed priority levels, and
• 00:11 how we can use them to organize your account.
• 00:14 Essentially see your account, and the priority of all of the tasks in front of
• 00:18 you to help determine what things you need to be working on.
• 00:21 As you can see here, we've got red, orange, and
• 00:23 yellow, already indicated on our list.
• 00:26 Now in this feature,
• 00:27 we're actually going to be diving into sharing your tasks with other people.
• 00:32 Now of course, there's many different ways you can share tasks inside of Todoist.
• 00:36 One of the main ways is to create a project that is sharable.
• 00:39 A lot of people like to do this specifically in teams
• 00:42 to help share projects and collaborate with others.
• 00:46 All we have to do to do that is go into the options for a project and
• 00:50 press Share project.
• 00:52 This is something we are actually going to be discussing later on in this course.
• 00:55 So do stay tuned for that.
• 00:57 But once you activate this, you can go inside the project, start adding items and
• 01:01 also assigning them to other people,
• 01:04 something that a lot of people thoroughly enjoy inside of Todoist.
• 01:08 Now, if you wanted to share a specific link with somebody to a task,
• 01:13 this can be done inside of a personal account, and it's a great way to basically
• 01:18 share the information inside of a task to other people.
• 01:21 So you can see here for example, create YouTube video for new staff,
• 01:25 this is something that I might want to share with a colleague.
• 01:28 So we go to Options over this right hand side.
• 01:31 Now scroll down to Link to Task.
• 01:34 Once I press Link to Task, it actually comes up with a link.
• 01:38 And once I share it with another person,
• 01:41 it will allow them to access that task and view it.
• 01:44 So if they have a Todoist account, they will be able to see the task.
• 01:48 And in front of them, they will have all of the information they need to know.
• 01:52 And this is a great way to share different things with people.
• 01:55 Now, if you wanted to as well, inside of a task, you can connect up your email so
• 02:00 that you can add comments via email.
• 02:02 And this is a specific URL that works very well.
• 02:05 For people who like to keep in touch, and all of the information available inside of
• 02:10 a task, so you can do this and actually connect it up.
• 02:13 However, this is something we want to discuss in projects.
• 02:16 Now sharing a task is really easy.
• 02:18 And once you've shared the task, other people can interact with it,
• 02:21 share their own notes and continue on with your own experience.
• 02:25 The best way to experience this is really
• 02:27 to be able to use the projects as a sharable section.
• 02:30 Do remember that there is a version available that does a more something
• 02:34 that's called a team inbox.
• 02:35 So if you and your team are looking for
• 02:37 ways to manage projects or even manage activities,
• 02:40 as a team you can use that and actually manage your Todoist account there.
• 02:44 So that is available for something called Todoist Business.
• 02:47 So do check that one out when you're looking at plans and
• 02:50 see whether it's suitable for you.
• 02:52 Right now it's a great way to be able to share and
• 02:54 access different tasks with other people.
• 02:57 In the final feature, we're going to be diving into something called intelligent
• 03:00 input, which will allow you to quickly combine all of your learnings in this
• 03:04 section, allowing you to master the abilities inside of Todoist task.
• 03:09 So let's dive into that one.
