- 00:04 Hello everyone, and welcome back to the GoSkills course, All About Todoist.
- 00:09 Now, we have reached the course summary guys,
- 00:12 it's been great to teaching you all about Todoist.
- 00:15 But we're here to outline and round up the course that we've just done
- 00:19 all about Todoist.
- 00:20 It is so good that you reached this period, and we're so excited.
- 00:25 We're going to be recommending a few things near the end for
- 00:27 you to go away with, as well as some final pieces that you can
- 00:31 use to really optimize your Todoist account.
- 00:34 Our goal with this course was really to help you understand the toolkit of Todoist
- 00:39 as well as providing you with actionable practices to go away.
- 00:43 Now there is something to know about Todoist and
- 00:45 something that I haven't mentioned throughout this course,
- 00:48 is Todoist continually adds features every one to two months.
- 00:51 And also, I'd recommend looking at combining it with Google Calendar and
- 00:55 Evernote as you grow your experience.
- 00:58 As well as to continue to explore how you use Todoist,
- 01:01 it's always an ever evolving journey.
- 01:03 Now we talked to start with about creating your account,
- 01:06 creating your account including signup for your Todoist account.
- 01:10 About the core in areas of your Todoist account including inbox, today,
- 01:15 projects, and also how you can start assigning your Todoist work.
- 01:20 Whether it's work, life or both sorts of situations, and
- 01:23 understanding all of the features of Todoist.
- 01:27 Now remember, in terms of best practices, don't necessarily jump to use Premium.
- 01:31 Premium is an optional experience. There's Todoist is free, which you can consider,
- 01:35 but you won't have access to all of the features.
- 01:37 And also make sure to connect Todoist with your needs.
- 01:41 That's something that a lot of people make sure they understand as they go through
- 01:45 this course.
- 01:46 Now the next element is populating your account.
- 01:49 Adding tasks needs to be clear, actionable task names,
- 01:53 you need to build projects with team members, if that's relevant.
- 01:57 Provide plenty of context for labels and priorities.
- 02:01 Seeing and visualizing context is very important and
- 02:04 also design a workflow for you.
- 02:06 Of course, you can get so many great ideas of other people's workflows, but
- 02:09 the one that really works is one that works for you.
- 02:13 In terms of best practices, please do try to avoid task overload,
- 02:16 only include vital tasks inside of your account.
- 02:19 And remember, you can create projects based on your fixed tasks, something
- 02:23 that's static and not necessarily a project for every new task that you have.
- 02:28 Optimizing your account,
- 02:30 really taking your accounts next level, that can include adding time based tasks.
- 02:35 For example today at 6:30 PM, you can add real detail to it.
- 02:39 You can add details to comments for even more contacts.
- 02:42 Create filters to match the scenarios, we did a great feature on that
- 02:45 one on this course, and use templates to produce the administration.
- 02:49 For best practices,
- 02:51 we recommend checking out on YouTube, which is always an ever evolving feature.
- 02:55 And also the resources in this entire course, always come back to them
- 02:59 to help understand and really improve your workflow.
- 03:02 You can also create a customized way of working
- 03:05 that really suits you inside of Todoist.
- 03:08 Now some Todoist alternatives, let's talk about the three that we recommend.
- 03:11 Microsoft To-Do, it's created by Microsoft, it's a free alternative.
- 03:15 Provides fewer features than Todoist but actually provides you
- 03:18 with the ability to add tasks and is a reliable solution at the moment.
- 03:22 TickTick again, is very similar to Todoist, but
- 03:25 it provides a built-in calendar, themes, and a few more custom features as well.
- 03:30 And you've also got Things 3, which is a bit of a premium solution at $49.99, but
- 03:34 it's available for Apple lovers, only available on iOS and Mac.
- 03:38 And it does provide a more advanced project management now,
- 03:41 as well as gesture based apps.
- 03:44 There's a final exercise, Your Todoist Use.
- 03:47 Now this exercise will help you overview your collective use,
- 03:50 designed to help you to calculate your use and features.
- 03:53 It's important to understand where you're growing with this application.
- 03:57 A huge thank you from me, I've been your host Francesco D'Alessio, and
- 04:01 I'm over on YouTube if you want to find me.
- 04:04 Please do take advantage of all of the courses available here on GoSkills.
- 04:08 I will be doing more features I'm sure.
- 04:10 There is the Essential Productivity Training kit
- 04:12 that you can take full advantage of.
- 04:14 It's been a pleasure teaching you, I will see you very soon,
- 04:17 feel free to reach out if you've got any questions.
- 04:19 Thank you very much and best of luck with your Todoist account.
