Login to download- 00:04 As you work with your various projects within Trello,
- 00:08 it may be helpful to add attachments to a particular Trello card.
- 00:12 They could be images, files, text documents, or
- 00:17 perhaps even a link to another website.
- 00:20 To add an attachment to a Trello card, start by opening up the card.
- 00:25 On the right hand side, we have the option to add an attachment.
- 00:29 By selecting this button, we are given a list of the various
- 00:34 locations as to where we can select that attachment.
- 00:38 The first one is from our own computer,
- 00:41 and that's what we gonna be using in this example here.
- 00:45 A little later on in this course, I'm gonna show you how to connect your
- 00:48 cloud-based file service, so that you can upload and
- 00:52 attach files from Google Drive Dropbox and other services.
- 00:58 The very last option that we see in this dialogue is the ability to
- 01:02 attach a link and this is very straightforward.
- 01:06 Simply copy any web link and paste it here, and
- 01:10 you can attach it directly to this card.
- 01:13 But let's go back to attaching a file directly from our computer.
- 01:17 By selecting this option, we get to select the file from our own computer system,
- 01:23 it will upload the file, and
- 01:26 now you can see that we have this image attached directly to this card.
- 01:31 Now you will also notice that we have something new appear
- 01:34 at the top of the card.
- 01:36 When you attach an image by default it will also become the cover of the card.
- 01:42 So when we go to the top level view of our Trello board,
- 01:46 you can see that image is now visible here.
- 01:50 Now depending on your purposes and
- 01:52 depending on how you are using your Trello board.
- 01:55 This may either be helpful or
- 01:57 perhaps you don't desire to have the image displayed here.
- 02:01 To hide the image from the cover,
- 02:04 we can select this option here to remove the cover.
- 02:08 The attachment remains.
- 02:10 We still have access to this attachment here.
- 02:13 But it will no longer appear on the cover of the card.
- 02:17 You will also notice when you attach a file to a card that we get a new icon,
- 02:22 the little paperclip icon, indicating that we have one attachment.
- 02:28 Of course this number will increase as we add further files to this card.
- 02:33 So let's go ahead and add a second attachment.
- 02:35 This time we will add a text based attachment.
- 02:39 I'm gonna select this PDF document.
- 02:43 And it will upload the file depending on your Internet connection and
- 02:47 the size of the file it may take a few seconds.
- 02:51 And now we have a PDF document attached to this particular file.
- 02:57 And we can access these files simply just by clicking on them and
- 03:00 we can see a preview of the image or
- 03:03 see the text-based document right here within our browser window.
- 03:09 If we wish to remove an attachment, we have the option to delete it here.
- 03:14 When selecting this option, we are given a warning saying,
- 03:18 deleting an attachment is permanent, there is no undo.
- 03:21 If you select the Delete button here, that attachment is now gone.
- 03:27 Lastly, if we wish to add a comment to a particular attachment,
- 03:32 we can use the comment link here.
- 03:35 And it's recommended to so here rather than the comment section below.
- 03:40 Why?
- 03:41 If we use the comments section here this attachment will be linked to that comment,
- 03:47 and that may be helpful if you're pointing out something within that document.
- 03:51 So those are the ways that we can attach different files from our computer
- 03:56 directly to any Trello card.
