Login to download- 00:05 No matter what you choose to manage within your Trello board, you will come to
- 00:09 a point in which you will wish to remove some of the cards which you've created.
- 00:14 Whether you've made a mistake, or
- 00:16 perhaps you just no longer wish to see that card within your Trello board.
- 00:20 How can we go about removing each and any card that we like?
- 00:25 Trello, by default, uses an archive functionality.
- 00:29 Giving you the ability to bring back a card in case you made a mistake or
- 00:33 if you wish to review that information some time in the future.
- 00:38 So how do we archive a card?
- 00:40 Simply select the edit icon, and at the bottom of the list,
- 00:44 you will find the Archive button.
- 00:47 You'll also find this Archive button when opening up a Trello card.
- 00:51 By selecting this option, the card is removed from that list and therefore
- 00:56 the entire board, and we can no longer see it within this particular board.
- 01:02 But where did it go and how do we retrieve it?
- 01:05 Well by default, Trello stores it in its archive.
- 01:08 There's two ways that you can go about retrieving an archived card.
- 01:14 First, we can use the search bar at the top of the screen.
- 01:18 Let's type in a keyword that we know was a part of that particular card.
- 01:23 Here you can see it brings back the name of the card and
- 01:27 tells us where it was last located.
- 01:29 And if we hover over the image here,
- 01:32 it even indicates that it is currently archived.
- 01:35 If we select it, it opens up the card, and we see a very familiar view.
- 01:40 All of the same information that we added such as labels, description,
- 01:45 due dates, and comments will all be included here.
- 01:49 However, at the top of the card it does give us a helpful indicator
- 01:54 telling us that this card is currently archived.
- 01:57 You'll also notice, in the bottom right hand corner of the card,
- 02:01 we have a red Delete button.
- 02:04 If you do wish to permanently remove this card, select the red Delete button.
- 02:10 However, it should be noted that this can not be undone.
- 02:14 Right above the Delete button, you will see there is a Send to board button.
- 02:19 And this will give us the opportunity to bring the card back to its existing board.
- 02:24 I'm gonna select this button.
- 02:26 And now you can see the archive notification at the top and
- 02:31 the delete button are now gone.
- 02:33 If I go back to my Board view, here you can see the original card.
- 02:39 Now, what's the second way that we can retrieve an archive item?
- 02:42 Well first, let me archive this card once again.
- 02:45 This second option is to view it through the menu. By selecting Menu
- 02:52 and then selecting More
- 02:54 we can select the Archived Items list.
- 02:58 And this will bring back a list every single card which has been archived for
- 03:04 this particular board.
- 03:06 And here at the top of the list, you can see the card in which we just archived.
- 03:11 Now, this can be a convenient way to either delete a large number
- 03:16 of cards at once, or to retrieve a large number of archived boards.
- 03:22 Here you can see two helpful links below each and every card.
- 03:26 There's also a search bar at the top, so if you have a long list of archived cards,
- 03:32 you can easily find the one you're looking for.
- 03:35 Keep in mind when you search or view this archive list within the menu
- 03:40 it is specific to the current board that you're looking on.
- 03:45 But if you'd like to view every single card which is archived,
- 03:49 use the search bar at the top of the screen.
