Login to download- 00:04 When collaborating with others, it can be most helpful to add comments and
- 00:09 have complete conversations within particular cards.
- 00:13 This can be a great advantage over email, where we often waste a lot of time
- 00:18 searching for specific messages in a sea of unrelated emails.
- 00:25 To add a comment to any card, open up the card and
- 00:29 enter in your text in the add comment field.
- 00:33 In this case, I'm gonna indicate that I've started this task,
- 00:37 select Send and now my comment is added to this particular card.
- 00:42 And anyone who has access to this board can come in and review my comment below.
- 00:48 On the front of the card you can see that a speech bubble has been added.
- 00:53 This indicates that there is at least one comment attached to this card, and
- 00:58 the number beside it will represent how many comments are attached to this card.
- 01:03 Let's open up another card where a question has already been asked,
- 01:08 Jane says have you created an outline for this yet.
- 01:11 And below each comment, you will also notice that there is a timestamp.
- 01:16 It signifies when that comment was created.
- 01:19 I can go up here to the comment section and say No, but
- 01:25 I will later today, and I can select Send, and now my comment appears below.
- 01:33 However, because I did not address Jane directly,
- 01:37 and because Jane is not assigned to this card.
- 01:41 She will not be notified of this new comment, so
- 01:45 how can I address Jane directly?
- 01:48 When using the comment field,
- 01:50 start by using the @ symbol when you would like to mention someone.
- 01:55 Start entering the text of the person you are looking for and here, I can receive of
- 01:59 the list of the members that start with that letter, I'm gong to select Jane.
- 02:04 And now l have her username directly in the message and
- 02:10 l can say, can you please get started on this?
- 02:16 Because l mentioned Jane directly, she will now receive a notification
- 02:22 that there is a comment that has been addressed to her within this card.
- 02:26 Of course, you can add more than just one username within your comment section.
- 02:32 And they do not need to appear at the beginning of the comment as well,
- 02:36 they can appear in different portions or different sections of your comment card.
- 02:41 You can also use the @ symbol which is provided here to mention members as well.
- 02:47 And if you have a long list of members, you can either search for them or
- 02:51 add some other capabilities such as adding all members who are assigned on this card
- 02:56 or adding all members who are attached or assigned to this board.
- 03:02 So make use of comments when managing projects within Trello.
- 03:07 It is much more helpful and much more convenient to
- 03:10 have your conversation appear here, within the Trello card.
- 03:14 As opposed to trying to manage this conversation with an email.
- 03:19 And remember, when addressing members directly,
- 03:22 make use of the @ symbol followed by their username.
- 03:26 So they will receive a notification when the comment is created.
