You should use customer service to distinguish your business when your product, service and pricing is similar to your competitors.
Instructions
A lot of products and services in an industry category are similar in quality and most businesses that sell popular products have similar pricing. In order to differentiate your business from all of the others you can use excellent customer service skills to stand out.
Studies show that customers will choose the business with the best service when several businesses have the same items. 9 out of 10 customers said they would pay more to ensure a superior customer experience.

- 00:25 How was that interaction with that company?
- 00:27 How did things go with that product or service?
- 00:31 Now think about a customer service experience that maybe wasn't so

- 00:37 How did they treat you, how did they make you feel?
- 00:40 What happened with that product or service?

- 00:44 Did you get it late?
- 00:46 Okay, there is a huge distinction between companies that have great
- 00:51 customer service and companies that have not so great customer service.
- 00:56 So, the first reason why customer service is so
- 00:59 important is because it will help distinguish your business.

- 01:07 A lot of products and services in an industry category are similar in quality.
- 01:12 So let's take electronics for example.
- 01:14 Especially with all the big box stores that are out there.
- 01:17 And you wanna buy some sort of electronic item.
- 01:19 A lot of them carry the same items, don't they?
- 01:23 And if they're really competitive, some of them have very similar prices, okay?
- 01:29 So most businesses that sell popular products, they do have similar pricing.
- 01:35 And studies show that customers will choose the business
- 01:39 with the best customer service when several businesses have the same items.
- 01:44 In fact, nine out of ten customers say they would pay more
- 01:48 to ensure a superior customer experience.
- 01:51 And, I'll give you an example.
- 01:53 When I had my anniversary, we wanted to go all out.
- 01:57 So, we went to a hotel and this hotel is awesome.
- 02:01 I mean, even from the time you first pull in from the valet, they're asking
- 02:05 your name, they're greeting you, they're making me feel like a rock star.
- 02:09 Which is fantastic.
- 02:11 And the valet will walk you into the hotel.
- 02:14 And they'll tell me, hey, we've been waiting for you Mr. Brownlee.
- 02:18 And this particular time was my anniversary.
- 02:20 They told me, they said happy anniversary.
- 02:22 Said, whoa, that's pretty cool.
- 02:25 And then the bell man comes and he's walking with us,
- 02:28 getting information from us.
- 02:30 Other things that they can use to help improve our stay.
- 02:33 And when we get to the room, guess what was there waiting there for us.
- 02:37 Chocolates and flowers and a little card that said happy anniversary.
- 02:41 That's special.
- 02:43 That's a great way to distinguish your business.
- 02:46 I paid quite a bit more for that hotel room, but it was worth every penny.
- 02:51 So that's the first reason that customer service is so
- 02:55 important, is it will help distinguish your business.
