- 00:05 Now that we are familiar with creating a new slide show and even importing
- 00:09 a new template if desired, let's get familiar with the navigation pane.
- 00:15 This is where we have the opportunity to select different slides so
- 00:19 we can edit them or review them in the main window in the middle of your screen.
- 00:25 To navigate the navigation pane, simply scroll up and
- 00:28 down on your mouse or use your mouse to select individual slides.
- 00:34 You can also use the arrow keys on your keyboard to navigate up and
- 00:38 down within this window.
- 00:41 Let's say I'd like to add a new slide.
- 00:43 And I'd like to add it right after slide number four.
- 00:47 With slide number four selected I can select the plus button
- 00:51 near the top of your screen.
- 00:53 This will input a new slide
- 00:56 using the exact same theme that was applied directly above.
- 01:00 Now I can start by adding a title and adding content directly to this slide.
- 01:06 But what if I've made a mistake and what if I'd like to remove or delete a slide?
- 01:11 Well, we have two ways of going about doing this.
- 01:15 We can either select the slide and then hit delete on our keyboard or
- 01:20 we can right-click and select delete slide.
- 01:24 Now that slide has been removed.
- 01:27 We can also move our slides into a different arrangement.
- 01:31 Let's say I'd like slide number three to come after slide number four.
- 01:36 To do so, we want to click and hold that slide and
- 01:40 then drag it to its desired position.
- 01:43 We also have the ability to move multiple slides at once.
- 01:47 Let's say I'd like to move slides two, three, and
- 01:51 four to the end of my presentation.
- 01:54 I can click slide number two, hold the shift key, and
- 01:58 then select slide number four, which will select all of the slides
- 02:02 in between the first slide and the last slide which I've selected.
- 02:07 Now I can click and hold and
- 02:09 move all three slides to the bottom of my presentation.
- 02:14 It's important for us to get familiar with the right-click on our mouse.
- 02:19 This gives us a lot of the features that we've already looked at,
- 02:22 including some additional features.
- 02:25 For example, by right clicking on a slide in the navigation pane,
- 02:30 we get options such as cut, copy, and paste.
- 02:34 But we also have the ability to add new slides.
- 02:38 We can also duplicate the existing slide.
- 02:41 By selecting this option, it will create a copy of this slide that was selected.
- 02:46 If I right-click again, we see we can delete a slide from this menu.
- 02:51 We also have the ability to change the background color.
- 02:55 By selecting this option,
- 02:57 I can change the background to a yellow from the existing white.
- 03:02 Some other options we have available from the right-click menu
- 03:05 is to apply a different layout.
- 03:08 Here you can see I can apply things such as a title slide,
- 03:12 a section header or just a blank layout to this particular slide.
- 03:18 I can also change the theme of the entire presentation.
- 03:22 We'll take a look further at changing transitions in an upcoming video.
- 03:27 And then our last three options are the ability to move this slide to the very
- 03:32 beginning of the presentation, the very end of the presentation, or
- 03:36 to add a comment.
- 03:38 So if we are collaborating with others, we can add our comments directly here.
- 03:42 So get familiar with the navigation pane to help you navigate and
- 03:47 select the slides that you would like to edit or review.
