Quick reference
Create a New Quiz
Creating a new quiz is very similar to creating a form in Microsoft Forms.
When to use
We create a quiz whenever we want to test someone's knowledge on a subject.
Instructions
Create a Quiz
Let's create a quiz for the accounts department at Happy Flame Candle Company to test their Excel skills.
- From the Forms start page, click New Quiz.
- Name the quiz 'Accounts Team Microsoft Excel Quiz'.
- Click the image icon.
- Click Upload.
- Navigate to the folder where you have the image file 'Happy_Flame_Logo.jpg' stored.
- Click Open.
- Click on the alternative text icon and add text that describes the image.
- Click Add.
- Click in Form description.
- Type 'Quiz to test your Excel skills and identify knowledge gaps that require further training'.
Preview the Form
- Click the Preview button to preview the quiz.
- 00:04 In this section of the course,
- 00:06 we're going to switch gears a little bit from creating surveys to creating a quiz.
- 00:11 And a quiz differs from a survey in that a quiz is there to test people's knowledge.
- 00:18 So let's set up our scenario.
- 00:20 We're still working within the Happy Flame Candle Company organization,
- 00:25 but maybe we need to send a quiz to the Accounts Team,
- 00:29 the people who deal with all of the money related to our company.
- 00:34 Because it's really important that our Accounts Team has top-notch Excel skills,
- 00:39 and we want to make sure that they're keeping up with their training by setting
- 00:44 them an Excel quiz to try and determine who needs more training.
- 00:48 So let's set up a basic quiz and
- 00:50 then we'll start to add quiz questions throughout the balance of this section.
- 00:54 So I'm back at the start page for Microsoft Forms.
- 00:57 Notice at the top, we have a New Quiz button, so let's click on that one.
- 01:02 Now this all looks very similar to when we created a survey.
- 01:06 And that's the beauty with Microsoft Forms, it doesn't matter if you're
- 01:10 creating a form, a quiz, or a survey, the structure is reasonably similar.
- 01:14 So let's give our quiz a name, Accounts Team Microsoft Excel Quiz.
- 01:20 Once again, we can add an image, so I'm going to add the company logo again.
- 01:24 So let's go to Upload, there it is, I'm going to select it, click on Open, and I'm
- 01:30 going to add some alternative text so that screen readers know what this image is.
- 01:35 Let's click on Add to add that alternative text.
- 01:38 And once again, if you want to remove this, you can click on the trash can.
- 01:41 Now I'm going to give my form a description.
- 01:44 Quiz to test your Excel skills to identify knowledge gaps that
- 01:48 require further training.
- 01:50 Click away, that is our header.
- 01:52 Let's give it a quick preview.
- 01:54 Looking pretty good on the computer.
- 01:56 If we go to mobile, that looks pretty awesome as well.
- 02:00 So now that we have our header down,
- 02:02 it's time to start adding in some quiz questions.
