Quick reference
Post Scores
Post scores so responders can see their grades and feedback.
When to use
We can choose to show responders their answers and check how many points they achieved. This can be useful for training purposes.
Instructions
Post Scores
- Open the quiz, 'Accounts Team Microsoft Excel Quiz'.
- Click on the Responses tab.
- Click Post Scores.
This will show us a list of all responders, their quiz status (graded or not), and their scores.
- Click the Preview link to see a preview of the selected student's quiz.
- Click the Score column heading to sort the results in ascending or descending order.
- Click the question mark icon.
Posting scores will give respondents access to view feedback and the results of their quiz. Respondents can view their results using the same link they used to launch the quiz.
We can post scores for individual responders or all responders.
- Click the checkbox next to the responder's name OR click the checkbox next to the column headings to select all.
- Click Post Scores.
- 00:04 Once responders have completed a quiz and we've reviewed the results, and
- 00:08 maybe gone in and assigned some custom grading, remember,
- 00:11 you don't have to do that, but you can if you need to.
- 00:14 It's a good idea to let the responders see the results of their quiz.
- 00:19 So effectively what we're going to do here is ,we're going to post the quiz results,
- 00:24 so that when the responder logs into forms,
- 00:26 they can see the results of their own quiz.
- 00:29 Now in order to post the scores, post the results,
- 00:32 we go to the Responses tab in the form.
- 00:35 And notice just underneath this heading area next to Review answers,
- 00:39 we have a Post scores button.
- 00:41 So, if we click this, it's basically going to show us all of the responders,
- 00:46 if their quiz has been graded, their score, and then we can also see a preview.
- 00:52 Now, a couple of things to know on this page just here.
- 00:56 Once again, remember in a real world situation,
- 00:58 you're not going to see your name listed over and over again in here,
- 01:01 these are going to be the names of the people who have responded to the form.
- 01:05 Now, notice with the score column, we have an up and down arrow next to it, and
- 01:10 that means that we can basically sort the results based on this column.
- 01:15 So if I click once,
- 01:16 you can see it's going to sort it from the highest score down to the lowest score.
- 01:21 Click again, we're going to get the lowest score to the highest score.
- 01:24 So this is a little toggle which you can use to sort the results.
- 01:28 If we want to preview the results for a particular responder, for example,
- 01:33 maybe I want to see the responses from responder number 4,
- 01:36 I can click the preview link just here.
- 01:39 It's going to take me into their quiz, and their answers.
- 01:43 Now, just above we have this little question mark icon.
- 01:46 And whenever you see something like this,
- 01:48 it normally has a piece of useful information hidden underneath.
- 01:52 So if we click on this, we get a little screen tip pop-up that says,
- 01:56 posting scores will give respondents access to view feedback and
- 02:00 the results of their quiz.
- 02:02 Respondents can view their results using the same link that they used to launch
- 02:07 the quiz.
- 02:07 So that's a really important point, whatever link they were sent in order to
- 02:11 respond to the quiz, when they click on it after their results have been posted,
- 02:16 they're only going to see their results and not the actual quiz again.
- 02:20 Now, we can post results for individuals or for everybody all in one go.
- 02:25 So if I just wanted to post the results for respondent number 1 and
- 02:28 number 2, I could simply select them and click on the Post scores button.
- 02:33 If I want to post everybody's results, I can click on the checkbox just above which
- 02:38 will select everyone, and then I can post scores.
- 02:42 Now, I'm not actually going to click the Post scores button,
- 02:45 because that will effectively mean that in order to continue using this quiz in
- 02:49 future lessons, I would need to recreate it.
- 02:52 So we're not going to post scores, but
- 02:53 just know that's the button that you click.
