Hints & tips
- You can make up your custom paper size by choosing Custom under the pull-down for size.
- 00:03 Let's see how we can control the paper size of a page.
- 00:07 So I'm going to come over here and add a page.
- 00:12 And from here, what we'll do is we'll pick in the View menu up top, view.
- 00:18 Notice in the View menu, it says paper size, so
- 00:21 I'm going to click where it says paper size.
- 00:23 And then you get this new window on the right hand side.
- 00:26 So there's a lot of sizes that are built right in.
- 00:29 If I click on the pulldown, where it says auto, then you have statement, letter,
- 00:35 so these are built in sizes, legal is there, a lot of these are European sizes.
- 00:41 And then we have a postcard, an index card, and a billfold.
- 00:45 So those have specific sizes.
- 00:47 If I pick a letter, then it's going to be eight and a half by 11 as we can see.
- 00:53 Now, you have those ones that are built in.
- 00:56 And if you wanted to have your own size, then you would say custom.
- 01:03 So at this point, you can also make it portrait or landscape.
- 01:08 And then here you can change the width or
- 01:11 the height to control your actual paper size.
- 01:15 And then where it says margins, this is how big the margin is going to
- 01:20 be either on the top, the bottom or the left or the right.
- 01:24 So you can click on the pulldown, first we picked on view, and
- 01:28 then we picked on paper size to get this window on the right hand side.
- 01:33 Then you'll see a lot of paper sizes that are built right in,
- 01:36 like letter or legal and so on.
- 01:39 So letter, for example, would be eight and a half by 11.
- 01:41 I can make that portrait or landscape.
- 01:43 And then I control the margins over here.
- 01:48 And then if you wanted a custom size,
- 01:49 I click to the pull down where it says letter, and I'll pick on custom.
- 01:53 And then you can make that one portrait or landscape,
- 01:57 then you can actually control the width and the height of that page over here.
- 02:03 Once you're done with that, just close that window, and
- 02:05 now that page would have the size that you chose.
