This lesson will show you how to add a date, or time, or the date and the time to your text in OneNote.

There are times when you have to verify when text was entered into the document.

Go into the OneNote program
Go into the Quick Notes notebook
Click on the new page icon on the right
Click on the Insert Menu
To add the time: Click on the Date Icon towards the right side of the Insert Menu
To add the date: Click on the Time Icon towards the right side of the Insert Menu
To add the time & Date: Click on the Date & Time Icon towards the right side of the Insert Menu
Notice the date and/or time is now on your page

00:04 Now as far as adding a date and timestamp, we can do that.
00:08 So now when you add a new page.
00:10 Let me add a new page over here.
00:12 Then it will give you the date and the time of when that page was added.
00:16 So I'll type in New Page here.
00:21 And if I go back to my previous pages.
00:24 And you go to the top, it will give you the date and
00:27 time when that page was created.
00:30 But let's say I wanted a date time stamp on top of that.
00:34 So I'll come over here, and this is where you can, maybe date and
00:38 time stamp each individual container that you type in.
00:42 So I'll click on the Insert menu and
00:45 I'll click on Date and I put today's date in there.
00:49 Or I can pick on the word time and then put the current time in there as well.
00:54 Or if you notice, I can click on the date and the time and
00:59 then it puts that on the top of that container.
01:03 And then from there I was the start of tight band.
01:06 So now the page is automatically going to have a date and
01:09 time stamp when you add that new page.
01:12 But then I can just click inside a container and
01:16 then add the date or the time or the date and the time.
01:22 And then you're using the date and timestamp that's built right into OneNote.
