- Click on the new page icon on the right
- Click on the Insert Menu
- Click on the Pictures Icon
- Choose any picture file from your computer
- You should see that picture in OneNote
- That picture can be moved, resized, rotated, or flipped
Hints & tips
- You can also find many pictures from the internet by clicking on the Online Picture icon on the Insert Menu
- 00:05 In this lesson, I want to show you how to add an image or
- 00:08 a picture into your OneNote.
- 00:10 So let's add another page here.
- 00:12 I'll come over here of course and click on add a page.
- 00:15 And then I'll just call the page Images, all right?
- 00:20 And then we'll just pick on the Insert menu up top, Insert,
- 00:25 and then we see Pictures and Online Pictures.
- 00:29 So a picture will be something from your own computer,
- 00:32 whereas online pictures will be something from the Internet.
- 00:35 So let's use Pictures.
- 00:38 And then you would point to a picture from your computer.
- 00:42 So you can see how I'm in the Pictures folder.
- 00:45 And then let's say I'll get the Pclogo and I'll click on Insert.
- 00:50 You can use any picture.
- 00:53 And then there is the picture.
- 00:55 So now that put that picture into its own container.
- 00:58 I can just pick up the container and move it around, of course.
- 01:02 We can resize it.
- 01:05 Now if I wanted to resize that picture, I'm going to click on the picture itself,
- 01:09 and then we see the sizing handles.
- 01:11 So I'm going to go ahead and use the sizing handles to make it bigger or
- 01:16 smaller, all right?
- 01:17 So that was a picture that came from our computer.
- 01:21 Of course, we're going to make it a little bit smaller as well using
- 01:23 the sizing handles.
- 01:25 So now, in this case, let's get a picture from online.
- 01:29 So once again, I pick on the Insert menu, and
- 01:32 I'll pick up Online Pictures this time.
- 01:35 And that means it's going to come from the Internet.
- 01:38 Now it shows you Bing here, because Bing is Microsoft's search engine.
- 01:45 So now, you can choose one of these topics that are already there.
- 01:49 See how it says airplanes or animals and so forth.
- 01:52 So for example, let's go into Animals.
- 01:57 And then there's already some pictures about the animals as you can see.
- 02:02 So you can use one of those categories.
- 02:04 Let's go back here.
- 02:05 I'll pick on the back arrow.
- 02:08 I can use one of those categories or you can just search for anything here.
- 02:12 So let me search for computer.
- 02:19 And then there'll be many computers that we can use.
- 02:21 So I'll pick on this one.
- 02:24 Now, I'll pick on Insert.
- 02:27 And now there's that picture.
- 02:30 So I can click in that picture and resize that, just like with the other one.
- 02:38 No problem with that, so I was able to pick on the Insert menu and
- 02:42 the Pictures mean pictures from your own computer.
- 02:46 And then Online Pictures means pictures from the Internet.
- 02:53 Now, if I right click on that picture, then we'll have different options.
- 02:58 So for example, I can rotate that picture.
- 03:03 Let's try to rotate it 90 degrees, and you can see what happened there.
- 03:07 So when I right click in the picture, I can rotate it.
- 03:10 That's rotated back to the left, so it's back to normal.
- 03:14 Also, if I right click on that picture and pick on Rotate,
- 03:17 then let's see what happens if we flip it.
- 03:20 Then it turns it.
- 03:21 Well, it flipped it horizontally that time and we flip it again.
- 03:25 And then let's see what happens when we flip it vertically.
- 03:28 And then you can see is it's upside down, right?
- 03:31 So we can rotate it or flip it.
- 03:33 In this case, I'll rotate it again, vertically, and
- 03:36 then it'll be back to normal.
- 03:39 Let's see what other options are there when I right click on the picture itself.
- 03:43 So I can restore to the original size.
- 03:47 So we picked on Insert Picture would be from your computer.
- 03:52 And then we also did the Online Pictures.
- 03:54 There's just pictures from the Internet.
- 03:56 Once that picture is there, you can move it or resize it.
- 03:59 You can also right click on that picture, and
- 04:02 then I showed you how to do the rotation.
- 04:05 We could restore to the original size or set the picture as the background.
- 04:11 And now you know how to add images onto your OneNote.
