The Search box appears at the top of the screen.
2. In the Search box, type the topic to find: “brochure” or “newsletter’”
Notice all instances of that topic are displayed
3. To open a template, double click it.
4. To pin it to the top for future use, click the tiny push pin on the corner of the thumbnail image.
5. Edit the document as necessary, save and print.
Login to download- 00:04 When you first start a project in Publisher,
- 00:07 it can be intimidating to know how to do a design.
- 00:10 So let me show you where you can get some ideas or some pre-made templates.
- 00:14 Right over here on the File ribbon, I'll go ahead and click that, and
- 00:17 right underneath is New.
- 00:21 Here are some pre-made templates that you have full permission to use.
- 00:25 Because you have a licensed copy of Microsoft Publisher on your computer,
- 00:29 you can use these free of charge, no copyright infringement, for
- 00:32 your personal or your business use.
- 00:35 Now, we have a few ways to find more.
- 00:37 We have Featured right here, or I could click Built-in.
- 00:40 Now, the Built-in simply means that there's a variety of different
- 00:45 layouts already built into the program.
- 00:48 So, I'll go ahead and click on Business Forms, for instance.
- 00:51 And here we have expense reports, fax covers,
- 00:53 inventory lists, all of these things.
- 00:56 If you like one of them, you simply double-click, it opens up and
- 00:59 you can use it.
- 01:00 I'm gonna go back to that main screen.
- 01:02 So, right up here it says Home.
- 01:03 I'll click on that.
- 01:05 And I could also click Search for online templates.
- 01:08 I could click there and type anything.
- 01:11 But notice right underneath it says Suggested searches.
- 01:14 Personal, print, design sets.
- 01:16 So I'll go ahead and click on Personal just to see what comes up.
- 01:20 Now, a couple of things are gonna happen.
- 01:21 It's actually searching right now so
- 01:23 it doesn't immediately respond to your clicks.
- 01:25 And give it just a moment.
- 01:26 And now here comes all the personal templates that are on here.
- 01:31 But notice, there weren't that many.
- 01:34 But over here on the right, it says Personal 250.
- 01:37 Well, that's because it's also searching for Excel and Word and Access and
- 01:41 PowerPoint personal templates.
- 01:44 It's searching the entire Microsoft family, not just Publisher.
- 01:48 So, please keep that in mind.
- 01:50 Now, this list is clickable.
- 01:52 Instead of going back to the Home, I could just click right here and
- 01:56 click on Business.
- 01:57 Again, it takes a moment.
- 01:58 It's gonna activate, it's going to find them online.
- 02:01 It's going to come up.
- 02:02 Here we go, our Business selection.
- 02:05 Now, notice right in here we have one that says Blue.
- 02:07 I wonder what Blue is.
- 02:09 So, I'm gonna go ahead and click Blue.
- 02:10 And, again, it takes a moment after you click.
- 02:13 But then, there you go.
- 02:15 Everything that has some kind of a shade of blue built into it.
- 02:18 Isn't that interesting?
- 02:19 All right.
- 02:20 I'm gonna go back and go to the home and our built-ins.
- 02:24 There's one I really wanna show you.
- 02:26 I think it's so cool, right here.
- 02:28 It's Paper Folding Projects.
- 02:31 So, when I double-click that, there you go.
- 02:34 Paper airplanes and origami designs.
- 02:37 So, if you have nothing else to do today, you can print one of these and
- 02:40 fold paper airplanes.
- 02:42 I'll go ahead and double-click to show you what happens when you open this.
- 02:45 So, open up that one in particular.
- 02:48 A second publisher window opens up.
- 02:50 And then, there we go.
- 02:51 This happens to be a two page document.
- 02:56 And so, now I could use this little button, my two page button, and
- 02:59 lay them out on my screen.
- 03:01 I guess they're right over here on my page layout.
- 03:04 Click on the second page, click on the first page.
- 03:06 It's very great.
- 03:07 And so, there's your instructions on how to fold it.
- 03:09 You can print them both or just print one of them.
- 03:12 It's great fun.
- 03:13 So, anyway, I just wanted to show you those templates.
- 03:16 You have free reign to use any of them that you'd like.
- 03:19 All right, thank you.
