Quick reference
Instructions
To add or replace text:
- Click on a connector and start to type, or
- Click on a connector and click on the Text Tool to edit the text of the connector, or
- Right click on a connector, and then click on Edit Text.
To format the text of a connector:
- Click on a connector, and then use the text block tool.
- 00:04 Let's see how we can add text to those connector lines.
- 00:07 Now I'm going to click on the pointer tool, and
- 00:10 I'm going to click on this line it was really just an example.
- 00:13 So I'm going to click on that connector and then delete that with my Delete key.
- 00:17 And I'm going to click on this one and
- 00:19 delete that with my Delete key as well, good.
- 00:22 So there's a couple ways I can add or change text to the connectors.
- 00:28 So if I click on that connector, I could just start the type.
- 00:32 So maybe this one is yes.
- 00:35 And if I click over here, I'm going to start to type and maybe this one is no.
- 00:40 So that's one way you can do it.
- 00:42 Now if I want to change that text, a couple things I can do about that.
- 00:47 I can click on that line, and then I can pick on the text tool up here,
- 00:52 and then see how I can change the text from there.
- 00:55 Maybe I want to make that uppercase YES.
- 00:59 And in this case, I pick on the pointer tool.
- 01:02 Go back to this connector, and then pick on the text tool.
- 01:06 And then here I'll change it to say uppercase NO.
- 01:09 So I can type over the line, and it'll add or replace the text.
- 01:16 If I want to select a text specifically, I could use the text tool.
- 01:21 Another thing I can do, in this case, I'm going to go back to the pointer tool,
- 01:26 and then I'm going to right click on that connector, and then I can say Edit Text.
- 01:31 So that's the same thing as using the text tool as you can see.
- 01:35 Now what if we want to format that text?
- 01:38 Well, then we're going to use this tool over here.
- 01:42 So I'm going to go ahead and click on that connector, and
- 01:45 then I'll pick on the text block tool.
- 01:48 You see, then it's just dealing with that specific text and then,
- 01:52 you can format it using the Home Menu.
- 01:54 So for example, maybe I like to have the text be read,
- 01:58 you always go back to the Pointer tool.
- 02:00 So now I'm going to click on this connector, and
- 02:04 then I'll pick on the text block tool, and
- 02:07 that really selects the text and then I'll make that one read as well.
- 02:13 So you can either click on the actual connector line and start to type,
- 02:18 or we can click on the connector line and
- 02:20 then pick on the text tool that'll get us into the text.
- 02:25 We can also right-click on a line.
- 02:27 Now in this case, I want to go back to the pointer tool if I right click on that
- 02:31 connector, I can pick on edit text there.
- 02:35 And if you want to format the text, you're going to click on the connector line,
- 02:40 and then you pick on the text block tool and
- 02:42 then you'll see that I can format the text once we're using the text block tool.
- 02:48 So that should give you some great ways to add text or
- 02:51 to change the text on your connector lines.
