- 00:05 This video is about a feature in PowerPoint known as Zoom.
- 00:09 If we go to slide sorter mode, we can see that I have an introductory slide and
- 00:14 I have two speakers.
- 00:15 This speaker is going to talk about site safety induction and
- 00:18 some of the injuries that result from poolside safety induction.
- 00:22 Speaker two is going to talk about various tools and injuries.
- 00:26 If we run this in reading mode, click one Enter to go to the first slide.
- 00:33 It's got a very simple fade transition between each slide and
- 00:37 each slide runs in a linear fashion.
- 00:40 Now many times at conferences,
- 00:42 we will have a number of people that would get up and present and
- 00:45 use the same presentation or use multiple presentations on a computer.
- 00:49 And there'll be a lot of nonsense flicking through computers or
- 00:51 flicking through presentations.
- 00:54 And if you can combine all of your presentations into a single file,
- 00:58 this is a great way to give you an interface to access all of those presentations.
- 01:04 So with this particular slide selected which is the first one, I go to
- 01:08 Insert tab in the Links, group, the Zoom drop-down button, Summary Zoom.
- 01:15 Now, PowerPoint gives us some very good clues about what we're about to do.
- 01:19 Select the beginning slide of each section.
- 01:22 We'll use them to create a Summary Zoom slide.
- 01:25 While you're presenting, select any section to quickly move to it.
- 01:29 At the end of the section, you'll automatically go back to the Summary Zoom.
- 01:31 Well, it makes sense that we need a summary of Speaker One and
- 01:37 then Speaker Two and we go Insert.
- 01:40 Now immediately, we've got a new slide that we will look at shortly, but
- 01:44 also PowerPoint has cut our deck up into sections.
- 01:47 So we have a default section, which I will minimize the Summary Section,
- 01:52 as well as Speaker One.
- 01:53 All of those slides are grouped into that Speaker One section and
- 01:58 all of the slides after the second slide that I selected are in Speaker Two.
- 02:04 So let's go to our normal view and press F5 on the keyboard,
- 02:10 and there's our presentation.
- 02:13 Now when we click, we go to what is our summary slide.
- 02:18 You'll notice that these are actually icons of the slides that are hyperlinks.
- 02:20 So if I click on Speaker One, there is a zoom transition to that part of the slide.
- 02:27 Speaker one pops up, talks about safety, talks about induction.
- 02:32 Talks about some of the site access injuries.
- 02:34 And when that particular part of the presentation is concluded,
- 02:38 it goes back to our summary slide.
- 02:40 Then Speaker Two can pop-up, click on their particular item,
- 02:45 go through, talk about tools.
- 02:47 Talk about injuries being crush injuries or tear.
- 02:51 And when they're finished,
- 02:53 very seamlessly PowerPoint goes away to the end of that presentation.
- 02:57 So consider inserting the Zoom summary slides in your presentation.
- 03:02 They take a little bit to get your mind around, but
- 03:05 it's such a good way of combining presentations when you're presenting and
- 03:09 you want to look absolutely professional.
- 03:11 It's something that I really wish that we'd had years and years ago.
