- 00:04 Hello everyone, and welcome back to this GoSkills course all about Todoist.
- 00:09 Now we're going to show you how you can create a project inside of Todoist.
- 00:13 Projects are really the bread and butter of your experience.
- 00:17 Of course, obviously you might have lots of tasks, but
- 00:20 really how you organize your Todoist account is using projects, and
- 00:24 it's a great way o coordinate all of your activities.
- 00:27 Now, a lot of you will wonder what the aim of Projects are, and
- 00:30 you can use Projects for, really, two core reasons.
- 00:33 Inside of Todoist, they could be from managing lists or checklists, or
- 00:37 even coordinating longer-term or short-term projects you've got on.
- 00:42 As I'll be demonstrating adding a project,
- 00:45 we've got a few projects created here as demonstrations.
- 00:48 I'm going to click Add Project, as you an see here this window pops up.
- 00:52 Now it's really, really simple, let's say we're planning a birthday.
- 00:57 You can see here I'm typing in Birthday, and
- 01:00 of course what you can do is indent a project, but
- 01:02 we'll be describing that in Formatting Projects which is next in this section.
- 01:07 Now you can see here that you can add a color to it,
- 01:10 I'm going to add the yellow color to it and I'm going to press Add Project.
- 01:14 Once I've added this project, it's created a brand new area of fresh new space for
- 01:19 me, then I can start adding different items.
- 01:22 Now it's really, really easy to use.
- 01:24 If you want to go back and actually edit the project details you can do so.
- 01:29 You can rename it here, change the color and do all the relevant indenting, but
- 01:33 you can also add a whole host of different options here.
- 01:37 This is the Options section and you can add a lot more, which is very helpful.
- 01:41 Now inside of Todoist, they've made it accessible from this left-hand panel.
- 01:45 You can also minimize and expand the tab that they have for Project,
- 01:50 as well as move it up and down the list that you have of Projects already.
- 01:55 Now you can see here, I've created a personal one, and
- 01:58 it's got a few items in it.
- 01:59 But let's add a few demonstration item that we've already created before.
- 02:03 Now, remember we created this last time inside of Inbox?
- 02:06 You can essentially drag it down into the relevant area.
- 02:09 And as you see, the task appears inside of the project.
- 02:13 So the exercise that we've got for you is to create your first project.
- 02:17 Creating your projects is important and
- 02:19 understanding which projects you want to go with will help you to plan ahead.
- 02:23 Now our recommendation is to create some really simple ones,
- 02:26 personal or work are a great starting point.
- 02:28 But as you grow with your Todoist account you can create whatever is suitable
- 02:33 for you.
- 02:33 I'll see you guys in the next feature.
- 02:35 Cheers.
