Quick reference
Next 7 Days
Todoist provides you with three main views. The first, Inbox, the second, Today and the final one, Next 7 Days.
Next 7 Days helps to see what's on over the next seven days, including all your Todoist tasks. The feature is one of the favourites for those who like to plan or see the week ahead.
The view also allows you to add tasks and edit details to provide even more context and each day is viewable on its own too, making it a flexible viewing angle for your Todoist account.

Hints & tips
- Add Todoist tasks with time-based due dates for even more clarity
- 00:04 Hello, everyone and welcome back to GoSkills' course all about Todoist.
- 00:08 In the last few features, we talked a lot about labels and
- 00:12 filters as a way to view your Todoist and
- 00:14 improve the viewing angle so that you can choose the right tasks to do next.
- 00:19 We talked about how you can use labels to add context with certain tasks,
- 00:23 to add even more detail, and
- 00:25 filters to be able to view it in any different query you like.
- 00:28 From adding due dates to projects, to priority levels,
- 00:31 whatever it is, you can access that there.
- 00:34 And it's a great way to view your Todoist account if you're looking to coordinate
- 00:39 your week ahead.
- 00:40 Now, of course, we have Inbox, we have Today, but
- 00:42 we haven't explored the Next 7 days yet.
- 00:44 The Next 7 is actually a very popular way to view and manage your week ahead.
- 00:50 A lot of people use this as their planning tool.
- 00:53 So you can see here, once I click on Next 7 days,
- 00:56 I have a lovely view in front of me of all of the next seven days of tasks.
- 01:00 Now the great thing is, for example, in this case,
- 01:03 it will bring us from Friday to Thursday next week.
- 01:06 But the awesome thing is it will actually still bring up the dates in between
- 01:10 that have no tasks assigned to them here.
- 01:13 And the brilliant thing is you can actually add tasks into these.
- 01:17 So for example, if I wanted to add a task for tomorrow,
- 01:21 like Look at Engagement Rings for example, I can do so really, really easily.
- 01:27 And it's accessible just from there.
- 01:30 It's a great way to visualize the week ahead.
- 01:33 If you're planning the work week or you're planning the weekend,
- 01:36 it's the perfect viewing angle.
- 01:38 Now as you can imagine, when you're looking through this account of
- 01:42 the Next 7 days, you can actually click into projects just by tapping the work or
- 01:46 the project icon that is in the right-hand corner.
- 01:49 You can see all that is coming up.
- 01:52 Now if I go back to Next 7 days, you can, of course,
- 01:55 assign times to these pieces too.
- 01:58 So for example, if I was like, look at engagement rings,
- 02:01 and let's say I want to do that at 11 AM.
- 02:03 I could easily do that, and you can see tomorrow at 11 AM appears.
- 02:08 Also if I wanted to add multi options,
- 02:11 I could use the Command key on the Mac or Select key on Windows, and
- 02:15 select some of the options up here to multi-action some of the tasks.
- 02:21 So for example, if I wanted to add this to a certain project,
- 02:24 as I do see in front to me, they've got no project assigned to them, just the Inbox.
- 02:28 I could do, they're all personal items, so I'm going to pop them there.
- 02:31 And you can do that with priority, due dates, and lots more.
- 02:35 In the next feature, we're going to talk about specifically Smart Schedule,
- 02:39 which is a neat way of planning ahead and organizing your tasks.
- 02:43 But many people, including myself, use this viewing angle to actually plan
- 02:47 the full week ahead, and a lot of people do thoroughly enjoy it.
- 02:52 So hopefully, that was a nice overview of the Next 7 days.
- 02:54 Again, it's pinned to this left-hand side, so
- 02:57 you don't have to worry about it going away.
- 02:59 And of course, you can pin any other items below it in a new feature.
- 03:03 Thanks so much, and join us next time for the Smart Schedule feature.
