Using Todoist Search
Finding tasks and comments inside a jam-packed Todoist account is one of the favourites amongst super users.
Todoist provides a search function at the top of the page, a little like Facebook does.

- 00:04 Hello everyone, and welcome back to this GoSkills course all about Todoist.
- 00:08 So we dive into smart schedule as well as Next 7 days.
- 00:13 Some really awesome ways to be able to optimize your Todoist account.
- 00:17 And there are so many more to talk about in this GoSkills course.
- 00:21 So do stay tuned for section eight as well.
- 00:24 So we're talking Todoist search.
- 00:26 Todoist search is accessible really, really easily at the top,
- 00:30 you can use to quick find function to be able to access a range of things.
- 00:33 So you can search due dates, you can use natural language to search that as well.
- 00:38 You can find filters and labels as well, really accessibly through here,
- 00:42 as well as search inside of comments.
- 00:44 So let's start with due dates.
- 00:46 So let's put in next Thursday, and this is using natural language input.
- 00:52 And as you can see has actually picked out next Thursday really, really easily.
- 00:56 Now if I wanted to, I could put in a specific date like the 11th or
- 01:02 12th of October.
- 01:03 And you can see that item has appeared really, really easily.
- 01:06 So as you can imagine, it becomes very accessible.
- 01:10 So for example, if I wanted to search a comment here and I want to set bacon.
- 01:15 So you get brought up an option, there are no tasks that have bacon in it.
- 01:19 But there is a comment that has bacon in it.
- 01:21 And it is a task for cooking breakfast for wife's birthday.
- 01:25 And added a comment, bacon sandwich with eggs.
- 01:28 So you can see that a little bit later into the month, but
- 01:32 it does allow you to access that through comments.
- 01:35 So that's really easy to access.
- 01:37 And as you can imagine, that is very helpful.
- 01:40 If you've got long strings of emails, you want to be able to find a specific thing.
- 01:44 And then if I wanted to, I could quickly find one of the labels I had, and
- 01:48 it's really easy to use.
- 01:50 And I can even do a quick search for tomorrow.
- 01:52 And as you can see, that appears there.
- 01:54 Now we can even search for filters, too.
- 01:56 So I had a priority filter.
- 01:58 And as you can see here, I get to priority one and
- 02:01 I can see all of the priority items there.
- 02:03 So using Todoist search is really accessible.
- 02:06 And if you want to access it using the keyboard, you just press the slash and
- 02:10 it will appear.
- 02:11 So Todoist search can be very easy to use and
- 02:14 a perfect way to navigate your Todoist account.
- 02:18 In the final section, what we're talking about emailing in Todoist templates,
- 02:23 emoji, and comma, just to round things off.
- 02:26 So when you get all of the advanced juiciness that you need to go into when
- 02:30 you're using your Todoist account.
- 02:32 Join me in the next section and take advantage of all of the exercises and
- 02:36 reference guides that we have provided for this video.
- 02:39 Thank you very much, and I'll see you in the next section, cheers.
