Quick reference
Confused Looks and Silent Rooms
Interpreting Non-Verbal Cues:
- Recognize confused looks or silence as potential indicators that participants may need further clarification, not as cues to move on quickly.
Encouraging Questions:
- Address apparent confusion by taking responsibility for clarity, e.g., saying "Perhaps I haven't been clear..." to encourage questions without putting pressure on participants.
Handling Silent Responses to Questions:
- If no questions arise, use the pause as an opportunity to present a commonly asked question yourself, thus "priming the pump" for further inquiries.
- Proactively prepare to discuss common questions or concerns that often arise in similar training sessions.
Maintaining Open Communication:
- Remind participants of the ways they can reach out after the session for further questions, reinforcing the ongoing support available beyond the training.
