- 00:05 Now, that we've created a Trello account let's take a look at where we can adjust
- 00:09 our settings within the Trello platform.
- 00:12 In the top right hand corner of the screen you will see your name,
- 00:17 selecting your name will unlock this brief menu.
- 00:20 And the Settings option should be the third selection down.
- 00:25 Selecting Settings will give you a variety of options to change both your profile,
- 00:31 and also the way that Trello performs, the way that Trello looks, and
- 00:36 the frequency of which you receive Trello notifications.
- 00:41 Now, by default, your Trello avatar will show the initials of your user name.
- 00:48 This may be important, especially when you are collaborating with other users.
- 00:53 Since this is what other users will see, when you are attached to a Trello card.
- 01:00 So, many people will want to include a headshot, or
- 01:04 some other picture to identify themselves.
- 01:07 Simply select change, and
- 01:09 you have the ability to upload a new picture from your computer.
- 01:13 Or if you've previously uploaded a picture, you can select that picture here.
- 01:19 Since I uploaded a picture earlier today, I'm gonna select that option.
- 01:24 Now you can see that my picture is associated with my account, and
- 01:29 this is what other users will see when I am attached to other Trello cards.
- 01:36 Down below you can make several other changes to your account,
- 01:39 including your name, your initials, or your username.
- 01:44 Now, your username is perhaps the most important one here on this list.
- 01:48 This is how others will most likely find you if they are wanting to
- 01:53 include you on their boards within the Trello platform.
- 01:58 By default, your username will be a combination of your full name, and it may
- 02:03 be appended by a number if there are other users that have the same user name.
- 02:09 You also have the ability to include a short biography.
- 02:12 And this is what other users will be able to see when they go searching for
- 02:17 your account.
- 02:18 But, it is not required.
- 02:20 And you can leave this blank if you desire.
- 02:23 You also have the ability to change your password in case you feel your account
- 02:27 has been compromised, or you desire a new, or stronger password.
- 02:33 You also have the ability to change your preferred language within Trello.
- 02:38 Under the credentials section you will see your primary email.
- 02:42 This is the email address I entered when I first created my Trello account.
- 02:47 But you can add additional email addresses if you desire, or
- 02:51 just change your primary email address sometime in the future.
- 02:55 Now, it's important that you use an email address that you see frequently,
- 03:01 because Trello does have the ability to send you notifications, and
- 03:05 as we will learn in a later module, you have the ability
- 03:09 to email things directly to Trello from one of these accounts.
- 03:14 In the notifications section you have the ability to change how
- 03:18 frequently you receive notifications from Trello.
- 03:22 By default, when setting up your first Trello account, or
- 03:26 a new Trello account, it will be set to instantly,
- 03:29 meaning that they will send you emails as soon as something changes to a card
- 03:34 that you are assigned to in Trello.
- 03:36 We will dive a bit deeper into these settings in a later module.
- 03:41 So, for now, you can leave this as instantly.
- 03:45 You can also allow Trello to allow Desktop Notifications, so
- 03:49 they can notify you when your web browser is open.
- 03:52 There's a few other options on the screen as well, including accessibility,
- 03:57 allowing a color blind friendly mode.
- 04:00 This area under applications will show what other applications you have
- 04:04 integrated with your Trello account.
- 04:07 It'll also give you a summary of the IP addresses where you have last used Trello.
- 04:12 And if you desire to log out of other active sessions.
- 04:16 And you also have the ability to add an increased
- 04:20 level of security by adding two-factor authentication.
- 04:24 Lastly, at the bottom of the screen,
- 04:26 if you ever decide to permanently delete your account, you can do so here.
- 04:31 So, those are the variety of settings you can change here within Trello.
