Replying to Comments via Email

Quick reference

• 00:05 It is very important that you choose an email address associated with your Trello

• 00:14 you to receive these notifications in your email inbox.
• 00:19 So many of us spend much of our day dealing with email,
• 00:23 whether it's for business purposes or for personal purposes.
• 00:27 It can be very helpful to receive these notifications via email rather
• 00:32 than needing to come into your Trello board and to see if there's anything new.
• 00:37 Here you can see in my email inbox, l have a few new notifications waiting for
• 00:43 me, and Trello does a very nice job of summarizing that in the subject line.
• 00:48 Here l can see even without opening up the email that l have three new notifications
• 00:55 on this particular board since 8:44 AM this morning.
• 01:00 It even attaches the date at the end of the subject line, and when I open this
• 01:04 email I get a nice summary of the changes that have been applied or related to me.
• 01:09 I've been added to this particular card, and I have also been mentioned in two
• 01:14 other cards.
• 01:15 There are a few questions here that have been directed at me.
• 01:19 Now makes it easy for us to access these particular cards and boards.
• 01:25 There is a link beside each update here, so I can go directly
• 01:29 to that card, and beside that I can also go directly to that board.
• 01:34 But it's this last link that can be most powerful and
• 01:38 help you to continue to be productive throughout your day.
• 01:41 Especially if you're in the process of dealing with a large amount of email, and
• 01:46 you don't want to take the time to transition to a different application.
• 01:51 Here we see I have a question directed at me.
• 01:54 It says, Has Ted replied to you about this conversation?
• 01:58 Now, I could click one of these links and go directly to the board.
• 02:02 But let's say, in this example, I have 60 other emails I really need to get through.
• 02:08 I'd like to send a quick reply and get back to the rest of my email.
• 02:13 So in this case, I'm gonna select the Reply via email link.
• 02:18 And what I can do is give a simple reply right here in the email.
• 02:22 Yes, he has.
• 02:24 I can select send.
• 02:27 And now my comment has been added.
• 02:29 Add it directly to that card as if
• 02:33 I had used the commenting feature within Trello itself.
• 02:37 I can do the same for
• 02:37 this message below as well, by selecting the Reply via email link.
• 02:43 So let’s go back to our Trello board to see what it looks like.
• 02:47 So in this case this was this card here, I’m gonna open up the card, and here
• 02:54 you can see here is my reply, the one I replied to directly from my email client.
• 03:00 As mentioned in a previous video everything within your email
• 03:04 will come over, including any links or email signatures.
• 03:08 But I've been able to reply to this question,
• 03:12 I can reply to any activity notification that I receive.
• 03:15 Directly from my email inbox.
• 03:18 So get comfortable with using the Reply via email link.
• 03:23 It save you a lot of time, as opposed to clicking these links and
• 03:27 going directly into your Trello board.
• 03:29 Especially if you wanna get back to dealing with all of your email.
