Instructions
Power-ups give your boards additional features and integrations with other applications. Boards belonging to free users can turn on one Power-up at a time while boards belonging to business class users can have unlimited power-ups.
Enabling Power-Ups
Enable power-ups by selecting Power-Ups from the board menu. Then select Enable or Disable to activate or deactivate the power-ups you would like to use. NOTE: You have to be a member of that board's team to enable power-ups.
Viewing the Calendar
With the calendar power-up enabled, select the Calendar link in the top right of the board to switch to the calendar view. In this view, you can quickly switch between weekly and monthly mode to view all cards that contain a due date.
Login to download- 00:04 Up to this point in the course I have shown you all these
- 00:08 standard ways to manage your Trello boards, lists, and cards.
- 00:12 And I've even shown you how to collaborate with other team members.
- 00:16 But Trello does allow some special features,
- 00:19 which permit your Trello Boards in new ways, and
- 00:23 also allow you to integrate with other applications and outside services.
- 00:29 Trello calls these special features Power-Ups.
- 00:33 And you can access them by selecting the menu.
- 00:37 Here you see the Power-Ups option.
- 00:40 And by selecting this choice within the menu, you will view a long list
- 00:45 of applications and other services in which you can integrate your Trello board.
- 00:51 So, whether you use Salesforce, or Mailchimp, or
- 00:55 JIRA, or a host of other services, there are many different ways
- 00:59 you can integrate your Trello board with these applications.
- 01:05 Now, it should be noted if you are a free, or basic user of Trello,
- 01:11 you are only permitted one power-up per board.
- 01:15 If you would like to enable multiple power-ups,
- 01:17 you will need to upgrade to Trello Business Class.
- 01:22 So, let's start by taking a look at the power calendar power-up
- 01:26 one of the most popular power-ups.
- 01:28 Especially since we are most often dealing with tasks and projects with due dates.
- 01:35 To enable your power up simply select the Enable button to the right.
- 01:40 Here, you will see a small, green check mark icon over the Calendar
- 01:45 power-up icon indicating that we've enabled this particular power-up.
- 01:50 You will also notice that directly above, we now have a new link, a Calendar link.
- 01:57 Let me close this menu, so we can take a better look.
- 02:00 By enabling the calendar power-up, we now have access to a calendar view.
- 02:06 By selecting this link, we can now view our cards either
- 02:11 in a weekly view, or in a monthly view.
- 02:15 And all cards within your board,
- 02:17 which have a due date will be displayed within this calendar.
- 02:22 Now, that I've toggled to my monthly view.
- 02:25 I can see I have multiple cards, which are either past due, or
- 02:29 that are due later this week, and even some of the information,
- 02:33 such as labels will be transferred over to this view as well.
- 02:37 If I'd like to edit this card, I simply select it, and this opens the card,
- 02:42 so I can edit it just like I would otherwise.
- 02:46 If you view your card in the weekly view, you will notice that you get this same
- 02:52 type of information, all of the existing icons on the front of the card.
- 02:57 And, again, I can edit these cards just as I would in the normal view.
- 03:03 Now, if you would like to close the calendar view you can either select the x
- 03:07 in the right top corner, or you can also select the calendar link, and
- 03:12 toggle it on and off to get to your calendar view, but when you're
- 03:17 dealing with a large number of due dates the calendar view can be very helpful.
- 03:22 To give a high level of all of your cards, all of your tasks,
- 03:26 which have an upcoming due date.
