Integrating with Your Personal Calendar

• 00:08 of enabling the calendar power-up, allowing you to see a weekly or
• 00:13 a monthly view of all of your cards which have a due date.
• 00:18 But chances are you spend a lot more time viewing your own
• 00:22 personal calendar where you have other meetings and events
• 00:26 and other things listed that you need to be reviewing on a regular basis.
• 00:31 So let's see how we can view these upcoming tasks,
• 00:35 these upcoming cards, on our own personal calendar.
• 00:40 Well, if we go back to the calendar power up, we see that we have a settings icon.
• 00:46 By selecting this, we have the ability to enable an iCalendar Feed.
• 00:52 An iCalendar Feed allows us to copy and
• 00:56 paste a special link into our calendar so that we can view it within Outlook,
• 01:02 within Google Calendar, within most other calendar services.
• 01:07 So when we go to our personal calendar, in this example I am going to use Outlook,
• 01:14 most calendar services give you the ability to add external calendars.
• 01:19 Here I have the add calendar option and
• 01:22 at the bottom I have the choice to add a calendar from the Internet.
• 01:27 Depending on which calendar service you use, this maybe listed as, add from URL.
• 01:34 I'm gonna select this option and we are usually given very limited choices.
• 01:39 And that's a good thing, so we don't go wrong when it comes to attaching or
• 01:44 including our Trello calendar.
• 01:47 The first thing it is asking for is a link to the calendar and
• 01:51 that's what we're going to get from Trello.
• 01:54 Here, by enabling the iCalendar Feed, we want to copy this link below,
• 02:00 go back to our calendar and paste it in this field here.
• 02:06 Now your calendar will most likely give you the choice to
• 02:09 give this new calendar a name as well.
• 02:11 I'm just gonna name it Trello.
• 02:14 I'm gonna select Save.
• 02:17 And now, you can see here in blue, I have the same cards which have upcoming or
• 02:23 past due due dates right here within my own personal calendar.
• 02:29 So I can see these cards right along side
• 02:32 other events I have listed within my calendar.
• 02:36 Now by selecting a Trello card within your calendar,
• 02:40 you get some very useful information.
• 02:42 You will get the name of the card.
• 02:45 In brackets, you will get the list in which that card lives.
• 02:50 You will see the due date, which will be populated within the When field.
• 02:55 And you will also see how many members and which members are assigned to that card.
• 03:01 And something that is also very helpful is that you will receive a direct
• 03:05 link to this card.
• 03:06 Remember, we are just importing information to our personal calendar, so
• 03:12 I do not have the ability to change the name or the due date or other information.
• 03:18 If I'd like to, I can select this link and go directly to that card.
• 03:24 So a very helpful way to integrate Trello cards and Trello tasks,
• 03:30 anything which has a due date, directly with your own personal calendar.
